    Tokyo Babylon Sountrack Collection

    Tokyo Babylon Sountrack Collection
    東京BABYLON サウンドトラックコレクション

I think this deserves some atention.
I'm sad no proper soundtrack was actually released, but the vocal songs are great, choosed by CLAMP themselves.
Personaly, REBECCA is what I like the most. I wish I could have more music from SUBSONIC FACTOR. :/

Well, these are all my cds, but I'm missing this [Hidden link. Register to see links.]. It is a video cd + a audio drama cd that comes bundled. If anyone knows anything from that, let me know.

    Enjoy it for now.

It might be just me. A guy who was born in the 80ts and growing up in the start of the 90ts. The time, where almost all vocal songs were astonishing, awesome, and delightful. Composed in such original styles, that, yeah in sometimes might feel basic in instrumental, but the refrain rhythms were damn Addictive and all Written in our heads for days... weeks... even months.
Take [Hidden link. Register to see links.] for example. I still consider it as the best refrain rhythm ever made. Just listen this marvelous beauty.

Funny how so many people were looking for Tokyo Babylon stuff right about now. I got the bug for it a couple days ago, after suddenly getting back into CLAMP's older works.

That Gunbuster song is great. Growing up in the nineties I felt like a lot of the American music had grown away from the great beats that I could still get in anime. My favorite song of that generation: [Hidden link. Register to see links.]. I've never seen the anime, but this song has stayed with me for 15+ years. Same for "Sweet" by Chara. (On the Image Soundtrack above.) I had forgotten so much about Tokyo Babylon and lost most of the tracks, except for that one.

I used to have a version of Cruel Angel's Thesis sung by Shinji's seiyuu. It was a live recording and she yelled "Don't run away, don't run away during the refrain." I had completely forgotten about it but my blood is boiling now, I need to go search for it! So many good memories.

Anyone else remember [Hidden link. Register to see links.] from Magic Knight Rayearth?

Let people grab this while they can I have not re-upload a lot of my stuff, and I will do it, when I feel like doing it. Not to sound an ass, but re-uploading my stuff is not all I do with my life, but I honestly feel happy to make some others dream come true in this way

I grew up with much more japanese music in my heart and head then american. I only got into some american/european beats because of certain 80ts 90ts movies. And perhaps some research of my own. Music nowadays is mostly trash.

I think I might one of the few that dislikes "Cruel Angel's Thesis".... any version of it. I think the reason that leads me to that conclusion is the fact that evangelion is Over-Rated. Evangelion is not good, in any way you might try to explain that it is. Only good things are the action scenes, that were interestingly in strategy and the Mecha design... everything else just sucked. Oh, and the fact the real real REAL PLOT of the all stuff of evangelion story is so in , i mean SOOOOO in the background that you almost need binoculars to see it. The reason is that they put too much bad philosophical and psychological issues. By Bad, I mean Bad written and there was no enough research about those 2 words to come up with something plausible.
But, "Cruel Angel's Thesis" own a prize of the best anime song in 1996....., I am sorry but in that time [Hidden link. Register to see links.]. The instrumental got stuck in my head so much, I learned japanese by myself just because of that song. This song made me learn by myself how to read japanese characters (the time when anime openings and endings had japanese subtitles of the songs as karaoke.) And the damn Refrain..the Refrain..... All of this song is like the song of my 90ts childhood. Because of that, every time I hear this song I feel like a flood of tears is going to come out of my eyes. Truth be told, First, I wish I could marry Hayashibara Megumi, she was like my goddess in anime voicing and music.... and still is. And the anime series... This anime hit me badly and much more then Evangelion. Saber Marionette J had very deep emotional moments well written and very fitting to the characters, in the sense that they are cyborgs, and the way the feel things different from humans, it does made them evolve. The plot is really beautiful, if you are watching it clearly. By "clearly" I mean, watching it like you are a part of it. The OVA was another evolution.. and I GOD LOVE IT!! Saber JtoX was very disappointing in many ways, but it still got stuck to evolve their learning of feelings. Some episodes were just damn brutal to make you cry. I advise this anime if none of you ever saw it.

Yuzurenai Negai never did hit me. I like the song, is cool. But...[Hidden link. Register to see links.] won my heart right at first time it appeared in the series.

You absolutely thrilled me when you reuploaded this! I had thought there might might might be a response if I was very lucky. I barely hoped you might respond, and I was floored to see you upload these that very day. It was a dream come true.

Please don't take my ramblings as requests for more music, I only meant it as discussion.

Initial D got me into European music. Like a [Hidden link. Register to see links.]. And it got me in to Para Para. I remember there used to be a Para Para dance game next to all the DDR machines. Most of those have disappeared now.

Evangelion confused the shit out of me when I watched it. And freaked me out. But I got a little into the Sephirot Tree, and the way it was climbed during the story, and I really enjoyed being able to dig into the mythology of it. (Final Fantasy 7 also climbed the Sephirot, and the characters represents the branches of it.)

Saber Marionette J!! I had the video file of this opening, probably the same file that was uploaded to youtube. That was back when it took days to download a 40 MB MPG file. These videos were how I discovered MAZE and Karakurizoshi Ayatsuri Sakon (one of Hiroshi Obata's earlier works). I'm sure I've got a dozen MPG files of these openings, somewhere in storage. Or I may have lost them with I lost my old [Hidden link. Register to see links.] with its tiny little round mouse. YouTube wasn't around then.

[Hidden link. Register to see links.]is still one of my favorites. Megumi-sama, I bow down to you.

And Slayers. Man, Slayers. How can one show have so much great music? I had a live version of Jama Wa Sasenai too, and damn I lost that too.

I still struggle with Japanese, after two decades. But I can understand the gist of things, and it makes things like audio dramas well worth it. Especially on series like Tokyo Babylon where I've consumed all the main items and I'm looking for all the additional items I can because I love the characters or story or music so much.

Hikaru no Go was one anime I got into solely for the music. That first ending song, what was it... [Hidden link. Register to see links.]! The music had changed quite a bit from the 90s by the time this came out. But it's got these not quite dark minor notes, kind of like Blue Desert does. I love that sound. And the rest of the soundtrack, it's got quite a few good opening and ending songs.

    I see no rambling

oh Initial D, Initial D , Initial D.... I am European by the way.
[Hidden link. Register to see links.] (I might re-up it later). A dude born in the 80ts with influence of videogame bit music... yeah pretty much grow into electronic music easily at that time. And yes, I am fan of DDR long time... LONG TIME, since the 2 EPIC DDR songs [Hidden link. Register to see links.] and the DDR GOD [Hidden link. Register to see links.]. I will forever love electronic music.
I have never seen Initial D animations, believe it or not, just the music makes me all itchy...and so melty. ^_^ I would like to point my top songs:
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

But the next one... Is the forever epic theme of my life [Hidden link. Register to see links.].
Bazooka Girls were the ones who got me into Para Para, and oh damn.

I never saw MAZE or Karakurizoshi Ayatsuri Sakon. I remember back in kid days, I used to buy like... 5 spanish anime magazine that came with multimedia cd with bunch of mp3 and videos of anime openings and more. I just wanted to buy the magazines because of the CDs and the posters. I still have them. It's kind of a precious collection to me
I made remember when I used to plug my connection to my old telephone plug. Damn... I feel damn old. Yeah, the connection was so slow. I remember when I fought so much to get some Saber Marionette J songs, 3 mb took 2 hours downloading...

Megumi Hayashibara is and will always be the Goddess!! Gloria is one of my favorites. I love almost all of Megumi's songs, but, Saber Marionette may have marked me because of the time I saw it. "Gloria" is one of my top favorites. Give a Reason.
And what about Megumi VS Masami? [Hidden link. Register to see links.] Just look at the lack of culture in that video. Obviously the guy does not know who Okui Masami is. If you ask me what is my favorite of Slayers... I say it's Jama wa Sasenai. oh, that soslo Sax... the SAX!!! It just kills all of me. And the final Drum beats? and the refrain rhythm??? Dude, this song is just perfect.

yeah, you are right. Slayers have so much good music. Just checking my stuff. What about [Hidden link. Register to see links.] This one was when I feel my balls falling over. xD

You have no idea, how good it is to see someone who also thinks of Audio Drama cds to be actually worth it. Most people spit on it just because they do not understand japanese, I use it to train my japanese.

    OH and...

So I had a lot of requests after everyone started to get my Tokyo Babylon Re-uploads, so I decided to make a thread for them

Click the pictures, if you don't know why they are here xD

[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

This 80ts j-rock/pop band has a very strong and deep place in my heart. I want to make them known to everyone. They deserve to be heard in how good they are.

    EPIC EDIT:

Pleased to meet you! I love finding out that the people I'm talking to are from all over the world. I'm American, that most undesirable of nationalities. But I had a good childhood and I'm doing alright now.

Butterfly! In high school me and all my friends were crazy about that song, collecting all the versions we could get our hands on!

I'm kind of glad you have never seen Initial D. I watched the first...twelve episodes? Never got very far. But I love the soundtrack.

I wish our magazines here came with MP3s and videos! The ones I got came with anime trailers on the CDs, but I would have liked music tracks more.

I don't have any of my old magazines, sadly. I got really into Gackt around 2002 and I managed to get ahold of this one magazine that had a bunch of naked images of him. OTL I like him for the music, the music...

I used to get in trouble for downloading anime music and videos, because it would take all of the internet connection. My dad would get angry because the internet speed was so slow when he tried to surf. My dad eventually got "high speed" internet, which at the time was still dial up. I think it cost him $120+ a month, which made me feel guilty. And some years before that, I remember when we couldn't talk on the phone and have internet at the same time. And I remember how different the web design was long ago. All my favorite websites had black backgrounds with neon colored text, and lots of ugly gifs. Man, that was the days.

Give a Reason! Another great one.

Wait, did I mix up Masami and Megumi? Crap... I thought Megumi did all of Slayers, crap crap. (I is stupid.)

But yes, every part of Jama was Sasenai just rocks, I can dance to every single moment of it. It's "action scene" music for me, which are songs where I can imagine big epic fights. Perfect for Slayers.

    LOVED Breeze.

I've got a couple other dramas. Some from Hikaru no Go, one of Yami no Matsuei, and the X/1999 monologues. The X/1999 character files were sold in sets of two, so like Karen and Subaru came together. But they also released one compalation CD of what I THOUGHT WAS all the tracks. But it was actually the music for each character WITHOUT their monologue. I WAS SO PISSED! I downloaded the full monologues later. But the music was really pretty good. [Hidden link. Register to see links.] had a fast beat with a synthetic melody. The chorus chant is so great. [Hidden link. Register to see links.] is a traditional Japanese flute that gives way to an orchestra. And it's very sad. They did a great job choosing a wide variety of music to fit each character.

But yes, I like audio dramas. I just want more of my favorite characters! I'm not good enough to understand all (or most) of what's being said. But I'm practicing.

!!!! You uploaded the Initial D Millennium Box!!! Fuck yeah!!!!!! Thank you~ <3 <3 And all the REBECCA discography?!? Holy shit askldjflkajsd;klfjaskdlfjdfkj THANK YOU

I just found out this amazing thread and I'm crying because this is so beautiful. I love Tolyo Babylon so much and I'm really happy because you uploaded the discography. Too bad/sad that the soundtracks of the two OAVs (OVAs) were never released. I wish Tokyo Babylon had its own anime. With the current animation quality and technology we would see a wonderful TV series. CLAMP should stop focusin their time on Sakura and XHoliC and pay attention to Tokyo Babylon, CLOVER, RG Veda and X, I don't wanna die without knowing the end. Well, thank you so much for sharing your albums with us. I'm in love with the 80/90's music, the era where good music was created. Tokyo Babylon is my favorite manga so far.
