The Thin Red Line (Complete Score -- slight SFX)

This surfaced the internet quite some time ago, but it has disappeared after a while so I thought I'd share it.

While this is a dvd rip and some tracks DO contain sfx... there's something about this music and the strong focus on nature present in the movie that makes it a much more harmonious combination than most dvd rips.

I am not a huge fan of dvd scores by any means. I actually hate them. But this is one I can turn to often.

Cheers for the link. Looking forward to giving it a go. Shame the official score doesn't feature more of the film's music.

Does anybody have a copy of the Klaus Badelt promo CD 'Music For Films' which contains two tracks from The Thin Red Line?

It does. It's one of those scores which I feel needs an appropriate complete release... desperately.

as for the Badelt promo... I didn't know it featured tracks from this. Interesting. I'll hunt it down now. See what I can find.

Thanks!! I'm sure we can all agree, though, about how awesome it would be if there were no sfx.

I really with this didn't have so much SFX because I love this score so much. Too bad it never got the release it deserved because Zimmer wrote his heart out on this score and it shows in his music. I'm still praying for a day when a recording sessions gets released for this score!

Same here. It's one of my all-time favorites. It's unfortunate to think that a complete edition of this score may never see the light of day. Ever.

i'm totally in love with the journey with drums like in the movie, but it's ruined with a loooooooooooot of sfx.
isn't there a way to make our own journey to the line cue with the drums? just adding a layer with the same drums to the cue?

i would love to do this, but I'm a total noob here ^^

nature is actually not an inconvenient in this one... I already have it but I recommend it, even if it is a SFX dvd-rip...

    Can anybody re-upload?

I do hate when scores contain SFX but this is the best work I ever heard - and John Barry is my favorite composer.

Exactly. That's the point. Even thought John Barry is my favorite composer, "Thin Red Line" it's the most amazing score I have. It's truly fantastic.

Is this really as good as people claim it to be? Is it worth the hype? I have the OST and a slightly expanded version. One track that stands out to me in particular is "Sit Back and Relax". But I wanna know if it really is an amazing score. I've never seen the movie, but I plan on getting the Blu-ray soon
