Goldenthal really needs to work more often... Is this his most substantial symphonic film score since 2001's Final Fantasy?

People wanted Alien 3 again for Public Enemies, but they were never going to get it. This is a wonderful, brooding, introspective score that isn't outwardly showy - but it's glorious all the same.

Of course, from a score perspective, the album absolutely stinks - though I suspect there will be a proper score release of this at some stage.

Whatever Goldenthal writes, even if you don't like it (as I didn't with Alien 3 for a good few years) you KNOW you're getting something artistically sound and intelligently conceived.

Here's a completely serious vote for Goldenthal and the LSO for the next Trek movie!

This movie was really good. And so was it's soundtrack, which I paid close attention to during the film. Thanks, Sirusjr.
