Is Outlaw Star popular? I'm not sure. It seems to be overshadowed by Cowboy Bebop depending on which little community I poke around. I wouldn't put those two together, Outlaw Star is just something else and it's badass as well.

I would say Outlaw Star is somewhat underrated; I loved the show while it aired, but never really encountered anyone who knew much about it.

I think Outlaw Star did get overshadowed by Cowboy Bebop because they were both introduced, to many people, by Cartoon Network.

I enjoy both for different reasons myself.

Cowboy Bebop made a great, if lacking in the constant plot, series with (at the time) edgy animation and style.

Outlaw Star has a great story that manages to keep the entire crew interesting and is one of the FEW animes where the ending doesn't leave you hanging or questioning.

I saw both when they first aired on CN and I was a bit younger, and was infatuated with their overall edginess, breaking the mold of 'friendlier' shows on at the time.

Cyber City OEDO 808 and Genocyber. Older titles sure, but both are good anime.

well, soul eater is kinda popular...
not naruto popular (though i HATE naruto) but close.

a current anime that i think deserves more atention (in this part of the globe) is one piece. really, this show is about PIRATES! pirates are extremely cool.
there are many MANY animes based on ninjas, and when i finally watch something different, it gets overshadowed by the shittiest ninja-based anime ever? PLEASE.

I'd say Katekyo Hitman Reborn! if u read the manga the action sequences are way better done then the anime version but both versions are freakin hilarious

Nana, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Kimagure Orange Road, Maison Ikkoku (of Rumiko Takahashi's big four works, I'd call this the most underrated), Key the Metal Idol, Kino's Journey, Trapeze/Kuuchuu Buranko, Guin Saga

    Generator Gawl, Genocyber, Brain Powerd.

These came to my head cause I never saw anyone talking to me about them.

Heavy Metal L-Gaim, it's an obscure anime title I think is a good mecha series. Also The Five Star Stories, it deserved more than a 65-minute film.

Gin Tama does need more love.

    ^Yea, Gintama FTW

Right now I'd have to say Tiger & Bunny. I know it just started but the title and the fact that it's about superheroes can be an instant turn-off for people. However, it has a really unique and culturally relevent premise and shows an incredible amount of promise for this spring anime season.

-ARIA one of the best slice of life shows ever, a bunch of people I know in IRL and in the internet still dont know what it is

-Binbou Shimai Monogatari, literally no one knows about it. It's about a heartwarming story about how two poor girls have to get through life through the love for one another.. and helping other people and vice-versa.

-Hidamari Sketch, another slice of life show it's made by SHAFT surprised it's not more well known

-New Getter Robo, a pretty cool manly mecha show. I like it about as much as TTGL.

-Pani Poni Dash, a pretty underrated/overlooked "crazy comedy" anime. In some ways like Azumanga Daioh but SHAFT'd.

-Kaleido Star an interesting premise about a girl joining a CIRCUS. Is actually more serious than it sounds, there is quite a bit of character development.
