The japanese like super deformed characters. And I admit they have a certain charm.
Anyway I think the character designs in 9 are the best looking character designs in any game ever! (that ive played anyway) theres only so much you can do with humans, but without the limitations of having to look like people you can be more creative.

In a sense, it is. I've got Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. They're both RPGs. Do what you want, when you want, whatever you want. Even the way one fights off the monsters.
Saying the Zelda games aren't RPGs is like saying the FF series aren't RPGs.

But when you get down to it, the FF games aren't any more than pseudo-RPGs in that (as role-playing games go) there's very little to no actual role-playing.

Probably the first two Suikoden games. Chrono Trigger and Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete go up there too. I don't think I could chose between these games.

Who do you think you're calling fools? You're the idiot who says FF9 sucks because it was childish. Anyone who dislikes a game just because they think it looks childish should have any and all consoles taken away from them immediately. Either that or they should receive counseling for their immaturity complex.

    You think nine was childish?

Zidane TOTALLY wanted to dagger Dagger, ikywim.

The amount of sexual innuendo in that game was frustrating, and ultimately fruitless =/

    on topic:

The best RPG i've played would undoubtedly be Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I know i've wavered between this and Jade Empire, but ultimately KOTOR has better replayability - not to mention it's not quite as short

Childish games are actually quite good. Think about Katamari Damacy or Ratchet and Clank. Childish yet very fun. But wait, how is IX childish?

Considering that Kuja was a man wearing a thong, and had no bulge whatsoever. I'd say he's actually chic, or a Tranny. Him and Sarah should get together. haha

Ok so you read this and then got into an argument over whether Zelda is an RPG (I beleive its an action RPG). DID NO ONE NOTICE METAL GEAR!? I love metal gear, its ace but how in hell is it an RPG?
