    Recording session's tracks nomenclature

In this post I have asked some vital questions but got no answers: [Hidden link. Register to see links.]

Can anyone write an answer there to those questions? Or explain here what are the differences in that naming system? Or at least refer me to some article or post about that subject?

I really would like to know, just why

    >>
if a given set [like this one] denotes a track as

    1m1v9alt

    and others as

    1m8a 4.01
    1m8a 4.04
    1m8b-9
    1m8b-9

    and others as

    3m24v7

why just not use one system?

I mean what is the difference between using "alt" to denote an "alternative" version, adding letters in alphabetical order and using "v" to denote "version" of a cue?[I]
