    Game Settings (PC Master Race)

What makes a game most blurry?
    Anti-aliasing or Post-Processing (also AA)?

I'm playing FFX HD Remastered and max settings for everything makes everything look blurry and fuzzy.

I don't get why most people prefer to have them enabled.

Having it at the lowest possible settings for AA, it doesn't look as jagged.
And I know SMAA is better than FXAA for the post-processing.

But so many people I've played with and reading comments, everyone wants maximum settings.

Is it just a nervous tick about self-diagnosed OCD and Placeboitus?

I can play with the PP at SMAA on highest and it doesn't make it look like mud.
But my god AA setting has to be removed from gaming history and leave it to PP only.
We're going to get you. We're going to get you. Not another peep. Time to go to sleep.

Most people don't have any idea what those sorts of settings do. That's the way it is for all technology.
They just assume that bigger is better and ramp everything up to max, regardless of whether they can tell the difference or not, and regardless of whether it actually makes the game look worse. It has to be better for you if the number in the settings is bigger, right?

    So many modders out there.
Some of them ought create awareness for such things.

I see a lot of mods for 4K resolutions.

I think they ought to make mods to remove any sort of motion blur.

I forgot how much the FF games love their motion blur.

X was a little jarring at first because of the motion blur.
And then it persisted throughout XII.

Avisynth does wonders for anti-aliasing. All the top anime encoders use it and all the plugins available.
If gamers were that serious about their product, they'd be investing time into such things to improve AA.
