When I was looking into the Atari soundtracks, I realized that I haven't really posted anything from Adam Gilmore yet. To make up for this, the last update of this week is all about him and his music. Sadly, many of these soundtracks don't seem to exist on Youtube so I can't give you links with sample tracks for all of them.

    Draconus (Atari 8-Bit,1988,Cognito)
    Draconus (C64,1988,Zeppelin Games)

Las Vegas Casino (Atari 8-Bit,1988,Zeppelin Games)
Las Vegas Casino (C64,1989,Zeppelin Games) - The Atari and C64 soundtracks of this game are actually very different.

Ball-Blasta (C64,1988,Zeppelin Games) - This has a pretty cool 'Name Entry' tune which I couldn't find on Youtube.

    Go-Kart Simulator (C64,1989,Zeppelin Games)

    Blinky's Scary School (C64,1990,Zeppelin Games)

The next time I'll have a spare 15 minutes, I'll write a quick update for your thread.

And if I remember right, the Dive On rip was made with Hoot, so maybe that wasn't the most spectacular effort

    Some requests:

Kami no Machi (PC-8801/OPNA,1989,Panther Software) - A visual novel suitable for all ages, a rare sight on the PC-98.
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

CRW: Metal Jacket (PC-9801/OPN,1994,Wiz) - A game that looks a lot like Front Mission. The music is by Kenichi Kamio.
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

Star Wars: Attack on the Death Star (X68000,1991,Victor Entertainment) - FM renditions of the movie score by Yuzo Koshiro.
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

Operation Wolf (Arcade,1987,Taito) - Just a handful of short jingles in this Taito arcade game.

I hope "tributes to dead musicians" is not going to be a recurring theme this year.

Labyrinth (C64,1986,Lucasfilm Games) - Based on the movie with David Bowie, this [Hidden link. Register to see links.] was co-designed by Douglas Adams and had a big influence on Lucasfilm's later point&click adventures like Mainac Mansion. The music isn't all that great and also pretty quiet - perhaps fittingly so.

Here is some C64-themed Bowie music that does the man better justice:

I fixed the broken link. Also, Blazing Tornado (Arcade) and Power Spikes (Arcade) have been updated with your tags, thanks again!

Thanks for doing Kami no Machi. I was watching Macaw playing it on Twitch a couple of weeks ago and the soundtrack was pretty amazing. Yuzo Koshiro + Star Wars sounds like my kinda thing too.

Thanks for CRW. They made a sequel, CRW 2. I would love to get the music soundtracks from Tokugawa, but they are real sticklers for letting in new people. And I would also like the soundtrack to Lesser Mern for the PC-98 also from Takashi Iizuka.

Please don't ask for new stuff before I have posted the last of your previous requests. It's hard enough to keep track of my own backlogs

I still have CRW 2 on my to-do list, with a little bit of luck it is going to make it into the next update.

Drift Out '94: The Hard Order (Arcade,1994,Visco) - Racing game with a good variety of music.
[Hidden link. Register to see links.], [Hidden link. Register to see links.], [Hidden link. Register to see links.]

Star Wars (Arcade,1983,Atari) - Pokey renditions of the Star Wars soundtrack.

Star Wars: Attack on the Death Star (PC-9801/OPN,1992,Victor Entertainment) - I think this is even worse than the X68000 version. Is this really a Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack?
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

CRW 2 (PC-9801,1995,Wiz) - A much longer and, imo, better soundtrack than the prequel.
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

Olmang Jolmang Paradise (MS-DOS,1995,Gameland) - Korean Space Harrier-like game developed by Family Production. Their games always seem to have pretty good music.

Ah well... Had it been rippable, it would have completed a sort-of trilogy that included Power Spikes I and II, since they and Super Volleyball are the same, but PS I & II made important gameplay changes.

It's by no means impossible but does require a full playthrough of the game or some serious hacking. Both options would require too much time. If you absolutely must have this soundtrack and are willing to do the playthrough (in MAME) yourself then we could work on this together.

That would be nice to do. However, I currently do not have the available equipment on my laptop to do a playthough yet, so until I do, let's put Super Volleyball on the back burner for the time being (unless someone beats me to it, lol :P ). Plus, I got some new requests for you, but I'm not sure if you're still trying to fulfill the remainder of the other user's requests or not, so I'll wait until then.

So is Lesser Mern going to be your next request? Just be prepared that this would take a bit longer due to the amount of tracks (over 70) that need to be recorded manually.

Oh? Well, in that case, here is my new request for you, then!!

    - Grand Striker: Human Cup (Arcade - The first of Human's Formation Soccer games for the arcade.)
    - Super Spacefortress Macross (Arcade - The first Macross shmup series by Banpresto, which was follwed by the sequel and Macross Plus.)
    - Ultra X Weapons (Arcade - Also known as Ultra Keibitai, it is a shmup featuring various Ultramen. Also, Masanao Akahori and Opus Co., who composed this game, are quickly becoming my new VGM music composer favs because of their work in various gaming platforms.)

Yes, Lesser Mern is my next request. I can wait. Any good recommendations for RPGs on the PC98, PC88 and X68000 in the future for music?

There are quite a few Falcom (action) rpgs like Revival Xanadu, Dragon Slayer, Legend of Heroes 3+4 with good music. Some of the later ones have pretty awesome MIDI soundtracks that I have never seen a complete rip of. Hitoshi Sakimoto worked on a lot of DOS ports and some of them have new, original music. The Farland Story games generally seem to have good soundtracks as well. And then there is stuff like Legam, Aiza, etc.

If nudity is not an issue, there are of course plenty of other rpgs like Dragon Knight, Black Bird, Mime, Dragon Master Silk...

I only care about the music. I never play the RPGs with nudity, but I like the music in them, especially with what I listened to in Hoot.
