Watching Death Note has made me immune to any emotional impact related to character deaths.

I guess Metropolis and Grave of the Fireflies would take the cake for me when it comes to heart-pulling moments.

I thought Wolf's Rain was pretty sad, along with some parts of Hagaren and Death Note.

I'm not much of an anime person, but my friend made me watch the entire Full Metal Alchemist series (including the movie) and there were definitely a few things in there that made me sad. One time I actually did cry (yes! I cried!). And definitely Wolf's Rain. I know Initial D is a drift racing anime, but there were a few things in there that did seem sad.

Kanon, I mean, do you know how many sad moments they put for each bloody character? And yet, it never gets old.

Ending of Berserk, too. I mean, wow, it screamed "To be Continued". =_=

Berserk did make me sad for many reasons but that was one of them. There is always the manga since it doesn't seem like they will be continuing that anime dispite all the rumors I've heard.

Well, the rumors are at least partly true. There are people who want to do it. The problem is getting the money. After all, the content of the show past that point would go way beyond what could be shown on TV, so it makes getting a production budget tough.

In Bleach, when Ichigo was little and walking places with his mother, something mysterious was behind them. Ichigo was scared and a Halo killed his Mother. *tear* Poor little Ichigo.

Yea, I've heard about the whole budget thing. Also heard a lot of other stuff.
One was that all the people that worked on the original anime were all off doing different projects. The other one, this one being more believable, was that the creator of Berserk wanted to finish the Berserk manga before he decided to continue it. I somehow believe he will just start from scratch since some characters were omitted from the anime. BUT if the rumor about the budget is true then that doesn't seem like it's gonna happen.

I have to say Grave of the Fireflies. I can only watch it once a year because it leaves me distraught. Millenium Actress had me crying like a sucker-punched girl. Saikano is very moving and Haibane Renmei really plucks those heart strings...

    Talking about sad anime...
I guess I prefer "Shingetsutan Tsukihime" or "Fate/Stay Night"
Both has an ending that may tear your heart...

if you haven't already, watch em' and you'll see what I mean.
