The last KINGDOM HEARTS game to be dubbed into a language besides English was KINGDOM HEARTS II in 2006. There haven’t been any main titles ever since, so we were fobbed off with only subtitles in Germany, France and Spain. But now, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX has been published. This HD collection includes KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, Re: Chain of Memories, and cut scenes from 358/2 Days. The first game or rather its Final Mix, however, has been published without the local dubbing. Although shortly before its release, the game was announced to contain the aforementioned dubbing.

The gamers were really surprised about this and might even see a tendency here. There haven’t been any local dubbings for eight years and the ones that already exist haven’t been used. Does Square-Enix want us to get used to the English version so that they can save money by not making a high priced KINGDOM HEARTS III dubbing for us? We fans have to fight to be able to hear the familiar voices in this next blockbuster game. This also applies to KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX. The collection is to be published in December 2014 and we want to see it being dubbed as well.

That’s the reason why we started this petition – you will find all the news by clicking on the “News” button! We will also keep you up-to-date on Facebook and on our blog. KH3 won’t be released until 2015, so time is on our side.

We have already established contact to Square Enix in Germany. Our contact person responded positively to our petition and has already given a first statement:

“Unfortunately, we can’t make this decision alone and are bound to coordination from other territories as well as economic parameters. […] This is partly also because, right now, we are entirely focusing on the upcoming AAA-titles and are therefore trying to deliver in a quality the fans know and love. We will also try to realize all our customers’ wishes and requests for Kingdom Hearts 3, including a German dubbing. Of course, I can’t make any promises right now as it is still too early. But I think that things aren’t looking too bad.”
