Any word if a score will be released? I heard James Newton Howard took over for Danny Elfman. I like them both, but I was kinda looking forward to what Danny had to offer. Still I'm sure James will pull something through!

JNH's score for the film was very good in the movie itself. I'm very interested to hear his themes separately from the film.

Most of the songs in the film were terrible though. Seeing this list of artist I honestly don't recognize a single artist on it.

I'm sure it'll be great. JNH would be my first choice of composer if I heard the premise of this film. It's exactly up in his alley.

James Newton Howard seems to be the 2nd go to guy, as in 2nd choice. if the first composer is either busy or score is trashed. The tourist, James replaced Gabriel Yared. Now here he replaced elf man. lets not forget it was he who got called in for the dark knight only AFTER zimmer began working on it

JNH 80 minutes of music for the movie in four weeks. And we all know that he works Better under pressure. I'm surprised on How there's not a single sample of the score and how late the tracklist was released.

Not just James, but T-Bone Burnett as well. I'm highly anticipating it

I'm just hoping this is more in line with King Kong (as in, classical orchestral) and as far away from the Batman style.

It's 43 minutes and 34 seconds Long. A lot of pages has the lenghts. Unfortunely, it only include half of the 80 minutes of music written by the movie.

That doesn't mean anything. Almost every composer at some point was called in as the 2nd choice, some more than once. JNH has composed way too many scores as the first composer of choice so he's certainly not the 2nd guy to go to. He's one of the best composers at the moment, imho better than Elfman actually. And I wish that he alone did Batman scores, then we'd have much more interesting action scores rather than typical Zimmer droning for the Batman franchise.

Yeah. Still, the CD has the music for most of the most important scenes of the book in the movie. I hope the other 40 minutes get leaked. By the way, the movie is two hours and fifhteen minutes without credits.

I'm not too concerned. Some label will get the expanded or complete release in due time. It may take 10 years, but it will come out. And besides, it could be downright terrible so it being mostly cut in half could very well be a blessing!

It should be out on Amazon on Canada. I tweeted to Stuart Thomas and he said that there's not plans for a expanded release for now. Also, he tweeted that the álbum was finished since two weeks ago so I don't know why they're releasing the score After the movie, and without releasing some samples.
