Okay, I think I want to do Most Exciting/Interesting Moment, unless somebody has a better idea. So if anyone has any thoughts on their favorite moments, post them here. It can be anything you want-- I'm looking for what's interesting to you, so even if it's not something most people would think of, feel free to suggest it.

How about:
-The assassination mission at the end of disc 1, ive always liked that bit. -Or, the part where the team attempts to make Garden move. I mean, it is pretty exciting how it happens. -Or, the time your FIRST meet Laguna in esthar. Thats pretty interesting meeting someone youve been seeing throughout the whole game. -The confrontation with Ultimecia. Come on, its nearly the whole point of the game. Thats, all I can think of right now....I hope you find some use of it...If not, well thats ok 2. |

The best part of the game was the end of disc 2. where the gardens clash. i just love it
All the laguna parts were fun. The Castle in the end was interesting. trying to find all the bosses was interesting even though not necessary. and escaping the prison was pretty fun too. going so many floors up and down and up again... |

I liked the Dance Scene, was pretty neat.
Also, being chased by that huge spider in that town for that SeeD Mission. Exhilarating. Hearing the track "Breezy" whenever you go to fisherman's point/Balamb.. Just makes me want to doze off. :|

Okay, thanks everyone. I'll add in some more of my own and I think we'll try for 32. I'll get that posted later today-- until then, if anyone wants to post any others, go ahead.

The moment when Riona & Squall are alone in space before her capture.
When Squall saves Riona from falling off the Garden. Finding out Edna is Cids' wife. When the Pandora thing is activated and that whole cutscene of the monsters descending from the moon. |

-OMG...you have to add the part in space when you go through Rinoa's mind. Then you see Ultimecia for the first time.
-Going through the the time compression itself. -The first time you meet Edea when she isnt possessed anymore and you learn about ?Ultimecia and Adel and all that. |

You know what-- I don't think I'm quite ready to do this yet. Let's give it until two days from now. To those of you who mentioned large portions of the game, could you try to narrow it down a bit? Something like "the whole missile launch" scene is a bit too wide-- try to go more specific.

@ The end of the missile launch scene, when everyone 'dies'.
The first time I saw 'Diablo' was pretty big for me. Seifer's betrayal and subsequent explanation as to why. Finding out Riona is Julia daughter. |

Didn't read the whole list just skimmed it so sorry if someone said this, but the explanation of the train mission. If I must narrow it down, the explanation of the train mission, not the mission itself.
That part made me start liking the game a lot because it showed how missions were actually choreographed in this game which make them all the more exciting to anticipate, where as in the other games you just go along and take what's thrown at you. I don't know if anyone mentioned these, but add the explanation of the Deling mission. AND, Laguna's step-by-step process of how to get to Ultimecia (that might be the same as "understanding the whole time-compression thing" as someone said). With that, I'd like to also add just Squall's crew and Laguna's crew meeting face to face. That was also one of my favorite parts, until then I was under the impression that Laguna was dead or something, but he's alive and well and the president of Esthar!

All right, let's do this.
Seifer Calls Zell a "Chicken Wuss" Chased Out by X-ATM092 The Waltz for the Moon Explanation of Train Mission Squall Says He Doesn't Believe in Evil The "True Mission" of SeeD Selphie and Co. "Killed" in Missile Base Explosion The Garden Takes Flight Revelation of Edea's Identity as Cid's Wife Meeting Edea as Herself Search for the White SeeD Ship Launched Into Space Activation of Lunatic Pandora The Party Discovers Laguna is Alive/President of Esthar Understanding the Time Compression Process The Party Confronts Ultimecia I decided to go with just sixteen, using a mixture of most of the ideas suggested and just a few of my own. I think I got all of the best, but sorry if I missed out on anybody's absolute favorite. Let's get started! Chased Out by X-ATM092 (The party is chased out of Deling City by a gigantic mechanical spider called X-ATM092, culminating with a fantastic FMV in which Quistis shoots it down with a massive gun.) vs. Understanding the Time Compression Process (Doc Odine, with the help of Laguna, provides a detailed mission briefing explaining how the party can travel through time compression to reach Ultimecia's time, giving them a shot at defeating her.) Oh, BTW... Quote:
"Elle wanted to tell me not to leave Winhill, no matter what happened by sending you inside my head. That way I could've stayed beside Raine in her death bed...To hold her when she called my name." |

Understanding the Time Compression Process
While the other was a nice FMV, the TCP really made the plot make more sense and added to the overall story. |

I actually really liked the time gates from the chain leading to Ultimicia's castle, it was so interesting to just randomly appear, alone in the middle of nowhere, then you found a chocobo forest and thought, hmm not so bad.
After riding around for ages you find the path all the way down, and whats there, the ragnorak! and inside is the card club! I really enjoyed tha bit, felt like a real exploration with a real discovery at the end. |

LOL, obviously someone who didn't read the first post of the thread or anything else in the thread for that matter and thought they'd just pop in and post some general thoughts about FFVIII.
Anyways... Chased Out by X-ATM092 - 4 Understanding the Time Compression Process - 4 Well, it seems we have a tie. I really don't want to just flip a coin this early, so I think will try Zak's message and a send a PM to someone who has voted regularly in the past but hasn't yet posted a vote in the current battle. That will be Solaris. Hopefully he'll respond. But if there is anybody else reading who hasn't voted yet and wants to cast a vote, go ahead and your vote will be the tiebreaker instead. If Solaris doesn't come through and nobody else votes, then I guess it'll just have to be left to fate... Oh, and mellifluous tupperware (I know you told me not to call you that, but I think it's actually one of the best ones that Sarah came up with.)-- the answer to your question about Laguna is no. Ellone realized that it wasn't actually possible for her to change the past. "You're the one that changes. Not the past." She and Squall both realized that "What's important is right now."
