First Pirates were 45', right? But still... they just want to sell more CD to those deaf techno-lovers.
I NEED: Cloud Atlas (recording sessions)

Definitely, there was only one track like this in Dead Mans Chest, but ANOTHER seven tracks is ridiculous.

Well atleast there's an 8-minute track in there! The music is the only thing I'm interested in in this new Pirates. I loved the first trilogy, but this one...I dunno...Penelope Cruz might have possibly ruined it. For me, atleast.

    I wouldn't blame an actor.

Truthfully, I have been noticing these remixes in the past few soundtracks composed by Hans Zimmer. - Dead Mans Chest, another cd of remixes for At World's End, several remixes in the complete score of The Dark Knight.

They should know by now that people don't like doing this and taking Hans Zimmer and his orchestrators music and disgracing it.

As much as I enjoy some good electronica, I have yet to hear any good "score" remixes. TRON had one or two half-decent remixes but that would be the source material lent it self to it quite easily for the most part.

This takes us back to the days of the Star Wars disco era. What a load of shite that was.

Oh well. Atleast the remixes aren't mixed within the score track list and we can just turn it off before they start up.

Why can't Disney Records ever release an original film score instead of combining both original and remix? In the words of Jet Li in "Romeo Must Die"... and I quote, "That... was a mistake."

Well I guess we are in the same situation for the soundtrack score of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Are biggest hope now is to just wait for a Complete Score release (hopefully with no sfx).

By the way Amazon.De site has samples....

And I hate to say it even more, but unless you happen to like 5 minute concert pieces of Rodrigo and Gabriel. expect even LESS of that 40 minutes of Hans Zimmer score to show up. Basically, this OST has Hans only making a guest appearance....There are 4 tracks out of the 11 of score that are not only a meaty 5 minutes or so in length, but are solo Spanish guitar pieces 9at least from what Ive heard thus far, and from the track credits listing)

Im up for a new sound, but this is ridiculous, man. Peace

I go clubbing, and I've never once heard a remix from an OST played at a club. Whatever they are meant for, I've no idea. I certainly never listen to them.

It may only be 45 minutes with 7 awful remixes, but it's not like there will be much difference in this score compared to the past three anyway. It will still be repetitive, overrated, overproduced, overfiltered, unfitting and completely unlike pirate and swashbuckling music.

The sample of the first track bears resemblance to some music from Dead Man's Chest--see my complete score, Track 06. Also the sample for the track titled Mermaids sounds similar to the theme dominant in the first part of At Wit's End from the third movie's OST. Like the others I am not looking forward to the guitar tracks, but Mermaids is eight minutes long! And also the Blackbeard track may or may not be inspired by Davy Jones' or The Kraken's themes.

Were you not aware that this was not like your usual pirate and swashbuckling music? You must have missed the reviews for Curse of the Black Pearl, in which they stated that Badelt and Zimmer have completely redesigned the pirate and swashbuckling genre of music. But I do agree that seven remixes is a bit excessive.
In search of: 2012, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Shawshank Redemption, Chronicles of Narnia. Nothing to trade for now.
