a few people were talking about it and saying the XIII was gonna have the one thing that caused everything in FF and it was gonna be destroyed or something, but who knows maybe just a lie who knows... guess we'll hafta wait for XIII..

This mabye the most stupid question in the world, but why are most of the games set in different places. When they all share the Final Fantasy name? are most of the worlds all related in some way.
Because it'd be mighty fucking stupid if they had fifteen sequels to the same story.You'd think it would get repetitive.... Think about it!
No, like 95% of the time, the worlds are all different. There is an exception, but i think that's with FFTactics. The way I see how the games are similar is because of the fighting style, gripping RPG plot, and, up until now, the recurring love theme. FFXII isn't supposed to have a love theme in it, from what i've heard. (Vaan and Ashe are just friends, i suppose?)

I wished it ended at FFXIII, cause it's gettin old. I think this series is one of the biggest, other than maybe Street Fighter.

I seriously doubt that Final Fantasy XIII will be the last Final Fantasy game. But, who knows? Square-Enix can do whatever they want to. All I can do is support the company I love. I will respect the decision they make, whether to continue the series or not to continue it.
their was quite a few that i didn't like.
FF2, FF5, FF10, FF 10-2....for years i said i didn't like FF8, but i just recently played it over again...i did like most of it (i.e. that card game thing was cool)
From what i gathered, final fantasy was supposed to mean that it was the Final unattainable goal (be it the salvation of the planet, fulfilment of a prophecy, bringing magic back using espers...etc.). world (literaly or figuratively) was at peace, world was threatened, all hope is lost, a final solution/prophecy is found, game is played to accomplish this goal, and world is at peace again THEN on to the next world. OR i drink too much and just made it up, you make the call.

When Final Fantasy games start bombing, they'll stop making them. It's pretty much as simple as that.
Just assume that pretty much anything you hear about the series ending is just a dumb internet rumour.
I hope the FF series never end... *sighs* But as someone pointed out, if FFXXIX comes out, it's bound to get a little repetative in the end...
