There are things like broken beats which are written into the song, but then there's a HUGE noticeable degradation in quality from the second half of track 5 and into the first part of track 6. EAC rip or not, it was probably done hastily in burst mode with no error-checking.

It's a beautiful soundtrack, by the way. The first CAVE work I've really enjoyed in some time, and I can't stop listening to "Presentiment".

    Spoiler!

I'll be uploading my old recordings of the games' original soundtracks sometime this week, too, and I'll make sure to post links here.

So, i need help here guys (and girls?). The thing is that i'm tagging the soundtracks of Gate of Thunder and Lords of Thunder, and i can't find the list of composers of these two games.

It seems that the music is made by a group called "T's Group" in other sites they call them "T's Music" and in YouTube there's a long series of videos about videogame music and what not, and the video of Gate of Thunder in the composers part says that the music is made by M. Takeda and K. Yamaoka.

    And i'm like... "wat..." :I

If someone over here know something about this, please tell me.

    Thank you.

I guess that i'm going to tag with "T's Music" the Gate of Thunder soundtrack also, since from what i know they are the same group that did the music for Lords of Thunder.

it was exactly as I thought: whoever actually ripped this disc failed at it, because lossless doesn't really change anything!

Are you talking about DDP Black Label? Because yeah, there's a lot wrong with that rip. Along with the error distortion in tracks 5 and 6, the whole thing sounds like it had ReplayGain or some kind of volume-limiting applied while encoding. I hope it isn't a mastering problem on CAVE's part. If anyone ever gets the actual disc, please let us know how it sounds.

I've only noticed clipping errors on tracks 5 and 6, and I made an attempt to repair them. I used the "lossless" APE image as a source.

It's simple enough; all you would have to do is take the good part of the loop (the first half of track 5, the second half of track 6) and paste it over the faulty part. "Presentiment" fares very well, but because the distortion covers the clean intro of "Endorphin", about two seconds had to be sacrificed in order to get a new intro that sounds correct. I even kept the fade time on "Presentiment" in check with the real track.

All this does is fix the severe distortion at the end of track 5 and into track 6.
This DOES NOT fix the overall distortion present on the entire album.
(Just to be clear, for people who gloss over tl;dr)

Here are some links. One in FLAC for those who downloaded the APE image, and another in V0 for those who downloaded the lossy version.

Oh yeah, I will register on Sunday. I been checking the site for the last 2 or 3 days i guess, and i'm really impressed by the list of videos of shmups.

But it breaks my heart watching videos of Radiant Silvergun or the DoDonPachi games, since they are so hard to buy! *manly tears*

Anyway, i know that this thread is about music but i encounter this videos on YouTube about the story of the shmup genre. Is in french but it has subtitles in english... if you are bored and want to see or learn more about this, check them out.

Indeed. This topic isn't only about sharing the SHMUPs OST, but one of the best places to find new friends as well! Talk about omnipotence!

    Quite appealing, aren't I?

Magma Dragoon mentioned this. I've had it for a few months. I thought I got it from this topic, but it wasn't listed on the first page. I found it [Hidden link. Space Invaders Extreme 2 -Audio Element-
    160-320 VBR MP3

[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

    __________

Also, Vertiphone uploaded lossless, remastered versions of the Thunder Force II, III, and IV original soundtracks. They sound fantastic! Definately worth checking out if you're a fan of Thunder Force music. (Available via Bittorrent, but MegaUpload download links are also available.)

Techno Soft - Thunder Force II, III, IV Collection (Vertiphon Remasters)
    FLAC lossless audio

    Main thread + Torrent links
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

    Alternative download via MegaUpload:

Technosoft - Thunder Force II OSV (Vertiphon Remaster) (1989) [flac]
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

Technosoft - Thunder Force III OSV (Vertiphon Remaster) (1990) [flac]
[Hidden link. Register to see links.]

Technosoft - Thunder Force IV OSV (Vertiphon Remaster) (1992) [flac]
[Hidden link. Register to see links.] - PART 1 of 2, TRACKS 1-24
[Hidden link. Register to see links.] - PART 2 of 2, TRACKS 25-48

    YET ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE:
320kbps CBR MP3 conversion for those who want it; FLAC's filesize can be cumbersome and the format may be impractical for some people.
Fair notice: the gapless playback isn't as solid as the FLAC audio. MP3s just aren't as versatile, being a lossy compression method.

All 3 soundtracks in a single 338MB .RAR

Gotta say, DDP Daifukkatsu Black Label OST is fantastic -- and would be even better if it was for the next Dodonpachi.

This brings a HUGE smile to my face. Even though I have these OSTs, and have DL'd many different versions of them, it always excites me to see someone post something new. Mostly Iam happy to see more people interested in the music of TechnoSoft and the masterful composers they had back in the day. In my humble opinion...the best VGM ever composed.

EDIT: Hmmm...I downloaded TFII and tried to convert the FLAC files into mp3s, but somethings not right. It's taking way too long (longer than usual). Anyone know why this is?

If the TF II files are the same as the TF IV files (they're the only ones I've downloaded), note that they are 24-bit FLAC files as opposed to the usual 16 bit. That's a lot more data to decode and convert when making MP3s.

I've had no trouble converting the soundtracks to 320kbps CBR MP3. Just note that when you convert them to MP3s, the gapless playback isn't as solid as the FLAC audio. MP3s just aren't as versatile, being a lossy compression method.
