Thanks Milo!
Thanks Milo!
will there be a rip of it soon? i want the ambiance sounds!
Listened to the entire thing. While it's a shell of the former Max Payne soundtracks, it is by itself a very good soundtrack.
While I think there could have been a better composer hired who could have done a MUCH better job, I am content with this. Anybody that has a problem with this soundtrack, go listen to LA Noire, then come back and listen to this. I think we're just spoiled.
The rip is much more difficult for me to do because of how the way it is segmented and layed out. Each individual music segment is a mono stream with the 2 mono channels imbedded in such a way that its difficult for me to split them without errors. sure i can decode the streams but with the way it is blocked i can't even split the mono channels and join them. This is for the XMA on the 360 version and the PS3 which uses MP3 is pretty much the same method. Hoppefully the PC version when releases should clear up this mess when the OpenIV tool is updated for max payne 3 PC because the developers do not support console modding.
Maybe someone can do a line in rip till then.

Its because the OST only has the music by Health on it, nothing from Rockstar or Trouble & Bass. No idea why Rockstar decided to do this, but i assume they just thought it was the most important thing about the music.
Maybe if we put in enough demand they'll release all of the music by Rockstar... I doubt it though, best hope is that someone rips it, which as its already been pointed out, isnt an easy task.
Thanks a bunch bud!
I can understand some of the complaints in this thread - this is a very experimental soundtrack. However, I feel it works very well even though it doesn't deliver the same emotions as it does ingame. As someone else already stated most ingame tracks are more low-key and more ambient. Nontheless I thoroughly enjoy the gritty sounds, especially combined with the few emotional synth tracks.
"Torture" is an amazing guitar solo, and tracks like "Pain" and "Fabiana" really carry the soundtrack to a higher level. "Combat Drugs" and "Future" are tracks that make me feel like a badass and make me want to play Max Payne some more. It's a rollercoaster of emotion, just like the game is.
All in all an amazing soundtrack, cannot stop listening to it.
Im making some headway on the ps3 rip which mp3 unfortunately but its much easier parsing the channels.
very curious about this soundtrack, thanks! I recently realized that music in the other mp games isnt especially great (just 2, maybe 3 good tracks), so there isnt much competition I guess.
thanks
Many decisions lies ahead. Non of them easy...
