I'm kind of disappointed with the original Red/Green soundtrack mastering here. It sounds kind of muffled and with way too much reverberation. Sounds ugly (to me).Maybe it'll grow on me. Or I guess I'll do a transcode of the GBS rips then. And the original Gold/Silver, too.

The SNES sound DSP outputs a 16-bit waveform at 32 kHz, so you'd not expect meaningful content above 16 kHz anyway. Usually all of the power is well below that too. On a side note, you can set the lowpass filter to whatever with LAME as noted many times before--you don't need to use all the default settings, though I don't see why not in most cases.
I can reupload that .hack album, but I've splitted it into separate FLAC files.
