Unreadable original CDs on a BD combo drive
Hi,
got a technical problem with reading original discs with my BD combo drive (Slimtype BD E DL4ETS) in ASRock 3D Vision 156B HTPC.
I bought over 12 albums from a retail store and my drive doesn't want to read 4 of them (not mentioning ripping).
After inserting the CD and starting foobar/WMP/iTunes to read it, the drive keeps speeding up for 3-4 seconds and reseting over and over like it's jammed. I changed the CD to a working one and there's no problem at all.
I don't have any emulated drives set up (although DAEMON Tools Lite is installed).
It looks like this situation repeats itself only on this particular drive. At my friends' player and computer all 4 CDs work fine.
I was wondering if this could be a caused by DRM protection or simply my drive isn't somehow compatible.
Which one of these scenarios is more probable? Or is it something else?
Thanks for any kind of help with this.

Probably protected discs. I had that problem before with a disc from BMG.

So basically there's nothing I can do except ripping them at my friend's computer, right?
Do retailers usually accept returns when this situation occurs or do they always blame user's drive?

Retailers should accept returns with no questions if you have the receipt, but that's usually with the stipulation that it's not opened.
