It's the policy of the admins not to delete accounts. If you don't want to return, that's okay. The account will simply go unused from now on. On the other hand, if you do come back, that means you won't have to register again.

situation....conversation? thread? Any way, it amazes me that there are people out there who want to be wiped clean of this forum. It would almost be like someone in the real world asking the government or even some higher power like God to kill him and then erase him from history. Who would want that?

Like, geez, is it so difficult to stop coming to this site if you don't want to be here anymore? But I'm just beating a dead cat, since Darth Revan has pretty much covered all the bases here.

I suspect perhaps it is more to do with the recent troubles. Maybe folks are afrais that their info may be given up, and want to be erased before that (unlikely) event may come about ?

Simple, they only registered in the first place just to download music etc. After downloading what they wanted, they then become paranoid of getting tracked down by the fuzz through their member account, hence their insistence on having their accounts deleted in a vain attempt to cover their tracks. Fat chance.

Personally, the fact that member accounts are not deleted should be stickied for all newbies to see (or added to the FAQ). Not that it will stop these stupid threads anyway, but at least then they'll have no excuse.
