I seem to recall that Aura can be used on monsters / opponents as well and that it has some effect, but I can't recall what that effect is and can't seem to find any info on it. Anyone know more about this?

I found nothing on the interwebs either. Agent, I think you may just have forced my curiosity to dust off the old PS1.

I remember in Desert Prison when ur the top of the structure you have to fight an Red Elite soldier and 2 GIM52As. And sometimes the red soldier would cast aura on the robots. I dont think that it made them change in anyway but then again why would the soldier have casted it for no reason...So it must have some sort of impact.
-My guess that it either allows the opponent to use its more stronger moves(which is probably untrue seeing as if they use the same moves throughout)
-Or maybe it usts boosts up the monsters stats.
In order for Aura to do anything, the opponent must have a "Limit Break", otherwise it's totally pointless.
The GIM25A's use Aura indeed, and I noticed they use Ray-Bomb afterwords. I guess that's their limit-thing. I guess it is kind of a special move, since it's a Blue Magic? That's the only enemy I've seen use that.
Raijin also uses Aura on himself in both battles, and after he does he uses a move called "Raijin Special". ONLY after he uses Aura, so that must be his Limit, which actually makes sense!
As far as I know, those are the only enemies that USE Aura, but I don't know about if any other monsters have such an effect if you use it on them.
I'm actually playing the game right now, I can try it soon...
Thanks Neg for the banner!!
I just wonder if it raises the 'Luck' stat too?
Zak - good catch. That's probably it. Aura allows enemies to use Limit-type moves, just like your characters.
I suppose it's very possible, though I don't really see how there'd be any way to tell unless one had access to the game code.Originally Posted by Jarosik

its ONLY to raise frequency of your limit breaks, however doubly raise that by just hitting triangle and skipping ur turn, easiest cheat in the entire game, and even if u dont have aura, use it whilst u have low HP, same effect, just depends if u can spare time hitting the skip ur turn when u have noone else to skip ur turn to.
Descend, Heartless Angel.
According to you, sefiros. My information is from Final Fantasy Wiki -- do you have another source that says it only affects that?
have u seen anything within the game to suggest that? ever scanned urself after being aura'd? im not arguing just merely stating that it increases frequency of limits.
Seifer has used Aura on himself when I have been fighting him before now and I noticed he started doing his limit breaks more often, But again he has also done them on me without.
Raijin has also used Raijin special on me without having aura state on himself as well, It seems to increase the frequency of use from them, The same applies to Fujin as well, I had reflect cast on myself once and used Aura by accident and it reflected to her and she started using her one attack which knocked me down to 1hp almost every attack she used.
Sorry, sefiros -- I thought you were talking about Luck stat and not Aura, because Luck stat was the last thing that we were talking about. But I realize you were talking about Aura now.
P.S.: If an enemy uses Aura on itself, I would suggest using Dispel magic, if the Magic command is equipped. I'm not sure, but I suspect it would remove it like any other positive status.
Its okay, just a simple misunderstanding i guess ^_^
Luck stat is everything you mentioned, i agree with that![]()
Aura makes the ability of u having the limit break available and luck stat increases ur chances of finding things and mugging good items from an enemy
Please use proper English. "u" and "ur" don't make you look cool, they just make you look lame. Also, way to both revive a really old thread and post a response that doesn't actually have anything to do with the topic.
