Studies show that when a given norm is changed in the face of the unchanging, the remaining contradictions will parallel the truth. - Saul Williams
Helping the "decline" of humanity by not giving two fucks about old, European-style music. - some African
I listen to hip-hop, so that dead white men will spin in their graves. - a degenerate African
I can say from experience that people disappearing for a while doesn't mean they're gone for good. I've done it, right down to avoiding talking to the people here who were nothing short of amazing to me.
It's a shitty thing to do, and I'm a shitty person for doing it (I'm shit in general really), but my actions never reflected on the people here and how I felt about them, and I've always come back. Not everyone comes back, but people do, a lot, and even if they don't they often pick up contact with people again. So, I wouldn't give up on those people showing up again.
the problem with country
a) most mainstream country sounds indistinguishable from pop and rock, they just add a little twang so we all know it's still country huuurrrr
b) when did country music become synonymous with blind conservative patriotism? cash, jennings, nelson, kristofersson were/are a buncha rough and tumble badass motherfuckers that were anything but poster boys for the establishment but it seems like almost every new country singer has at least one song each with the words 9/11, patriot, freedom, terrorist, etc in the lyrics
scratch a cynic and you will find a disappointed idealist
