Star Ocean 2 probably blows most, if not all the FF's out of the water.

For myself, I'll have to do it by concoles and platforms:
GBA - Shining Force: Ressurection of the Dark Dragon (I want a remake of Shining Force II dammit!), loved the gameplay and the story and all the extra characters you could get. I've replayed it a few times just to have a go at getting the secret characters and cards.
SNES (emulated) - Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia. Both of these had beautiful graphics and sound, and I liked their stories. Additionally I like the mutiple paths that Star Ocean's story would take, depending upon which characters you had join you.
Gamecube - X-Men Legends II (its an action-RPG isn't it?). I liked the gameplay and the choice of powers and skills for most of the characters. The storyline was a bit repetitive in some places, but the replay value in the Danger Room missions, hidden characters and dialogue changes (depending upon which characters are in your team / you are controlling) was worth it.
PC - Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption. This was the first 3D rpg I ever played and it was brilliant. I played this for years, when I was at University, because of the multi-player and only recently stopped, because I can't find the CD's to put it on my new computer.
the mutant dude
"Yo mama so fat, Jabba the Hutt said DAAAAHHMM!" - Robot Chicken: Starwars special
The best RPG i've played is:
1. SNES: Lufia 2 ---> This game absolutely cool n i'm really like the stories coz the stories so touched me...
2. PSX: Star Ocean 2 n FF7 ----> I've played this game till have all the missions, extras, n all secrets are revealed!!
3. PS2: Grandia 3 ----> the game play, the theme song, the battle system and all of the aspec on this game is very very great...![]()
*Chrono Trigger (SNES)
*Breath Of Fire I & II (SNES)
*Terranigma (SNES)
*Adventures Of Alundra (PSX)
I want to play 'Star Ocean' on SNES but my emulator hasn't got the virtual chip requirement for the ROM.![]()
Nothing can be worse than getting a big blob in your face.
Now seriously what console has better RPGs, SNES or Ps1?
Super NES. Bless Nintendo.
Snes was the birth of most rpgs, but ps1 rpgs was the product of raping their superior ability in graphics and sound, so meh.
Mentioning SO2 and FFVII in the same sentence like that is a crime.2. PSX: Star Ocean 2 n FF7 ----> I've played this game till have all the missions, extras, n all secrets are revealed!!
PSX - Grandia\FFIX, brilliant games, I loved the mana egg system and got really drawn into the story in Grandia. FFIX was really simple, great characters, and a joy to play.
PS2 - Dark Chronicle\FFX, I loved the combat system and photo system in Dark Chronicle, and the story and characters in FFX.
PC - Planescape: Torment, my favourite RPG ever. So much depth, crazy characters, plotline was fantastic, world was *fully* realised. So much subquests, actually entertaining just to explore. Combat wasn't perfect, but dialouge system was excellent.
PS:T wins.
FFVII and ToS. both are awesome rpg's.
blow me bastards
other than ff... breath of fire and legend of mana.
LoM was such an underratted game.. Who else thinks it rocks their left sock?!
...oh and Final fantasy 7 and 8 hands downas the best ff's. 7 for story and 8 for squall, he is so cool....
/me snickers quietly, suppressing the loud belly laugh, at least for now....oh and Final fantasy 7 and 8 hands downas the best ff's. 7 for story and 8 for squall, he is so cool....
Mine have got to be Kingdom Hearts and Dark Chronicle
Legend of Dragoon on Ps1 was pretty damn good. not my fave but it deserves a mention if someone hasnt already.
