All-Purpose Silent Hill Thread

Perhaps it's too soon for me to make this sort of judgment on the game, but I'm having a hard time wanting to pick the game up and play it. After spending about 30 minutes with it, it was interesting to explore, but it ultimately lacks what I'm come to grow used to out of a Silent Hill game. I mean, between this game, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, and Resident Evil 5... this game would be the absolute last choice at the moment for me to want to pick up and play out of my library...

I just need to find some more motive to play this...

MALL! MALL! FUCKING MALL! Even got to explore its nightmare side to get the colors for Tookie's nose! There was only one...thing left so I could hang out ^____^

Also, the nightmare sides aren't super detailed so you aren't missing as much as I thought I was, initially. Pretty well designed to be dashed through.

Also since it's established that the creatures only appear during the nightmares, it lessens the creepiness of the story/investigating parts since you know that you will never encounter one behind any door or past any corner.

It makes things predictable in that sense. And due to this the scariness/creepiness factor is seriously lacking in the game. I don't think I was scared once during the game.

I'm curious what everyone thought of the side-quests (photos, memories/messages). I personally liked them. I was one who liked looking at every little nook and cranny so I found quite a few. It's too bad you could only save 10 photos on your phone though.

s'coo. Pretty much the entire reason for my replay. They do an impressive job defining people by their clutter. I played superficially the first time, going at an average pace...not returning calls... like irl. Scouring time now

I like that they took out the cult angle altogether. It feels more like an even numbered entry, now. w00t for reclaiming Harry and Heather and muddying Harry's waters. Good show, good show.

Your controls are more precise. L1/R1 to spin things. We have to twist our wrists pretty crazily.

But, controlling the flashlight that way is a bigger pleasure than one would imagine for one so small.

Lol it sounds dorky but I did that in the grudge game. It was ringing so jokingly, I help it up to my ear and said "helloooo??". Then she made her noise and since I was holding it up to my ear like a phone, it scared the shit out of me. And I screamed....a little.
