Like I said earlier it's quite harsh on the ears but I don't believe this soundtrack will ever see a release.

Yeah, sound is pretty bad, way too aged recording for me (but that is to be expected for this sort of a score of this age).

This is an old boot -- sourced before CD's, from the late Tony Thomas (as I recall), who gave us other unreleased goodies, such as one I posted ("Distant Drums", rejected). It was transfered from a poor copy, 'cause that's all there is. Some enterprisingly label could probably make it sound great. Just listen to older scores mastered by Film Score Monthly.

I've been hunting this, but as usual, a lossless copy, so I'll keep looking -- it's not an immediate want for me.

The sound isn't too bad, bearing in mind a) boot, and b) 77 year-old recording!

It sounds as though whatever master was used for these has been transferred first to vinyl! It'd be fascinating to know where this came from.

I think we have in our midst a very famous gentleman - at least in film music circles - could it be the very same fellow who operates a website dedicated to a certain genius with a penchant for ponytails...?

We'll never really know the source. It go transfered and transfered over the years and eventually somebody put it to CD-R.

If you are refering to me, no, I did not create nor do I run JerryGoldsmithOnline, though I did re-design the credits page (I think I have a thanks for that on that page).

Iam, however, the creator and runner of five composer related sites, and have interviewed over 30 composers (David Bell, Gabriel Yared, Ken Thorne, Gerald Fried, others)

I had a fancy that you were a moderator there! Your name sticks in my mind. The rejected scores site is yours, though, right? I hope I'm not going completely insane...

Either way, *shakes hands* - good to know you!

No, I'm sure you're insane on your own merits. ;-)

I'm also not a MOD at JGO, I'm just a guy posting there. JN is the only MOD there, and owner.

Yes, Rejected Film Scores is one of my sites, along with the linked "Batman: The Animated Series" scores site.

He does do some composing though and likes the weather in Florida as I recall.

Hi!
I'm sorry to bother, but it seems that the link of Mutiny On The Bounty 1935 Herbert Stothart, which I really really want to collect is not available. Could you please reload one (perhaps with mega.co.nz or deposit.com) again, please? The original link you provide is here: [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Thanks.

And for a recording as old as this one that's been around the block a few times it still possesses remarkable fidelity.
