Awesome!

Well then as a thank you, i'll upload the massive super robot taisen: original generations gaiden psf conversion i made, with titles (albeit many are in japanese), only missing rocks op version and another small file, which you should have anyway.
It will be pretty big though, even with them being 100% mp3's it's still nearly 850MB in size and 145 tracks in total (146 if leave perfectio's theme from srw destiny in the folder)as well as containing many of my favorites from the gba games, like original sin.

Myrkul, thanks for sharing the links. I tried downloading one of the sountracks, but after about 10 hours, I gave it up. I might try again later.

Jessie, thanks for posting the albums you managed to download. Way to hang in there.

I'm more and more getting into SRW/T music, yet there's one thing that annoys me. The composer credits are too vague. Sites like RPGFan and VGMdb do their best in translating track and artist info, but the composer credits usually end up being a long list of names. Most/some of them are composers of the anime songs, not the original game music. If you're anal about tagging music (which I am), it's a pain in the ass trying to figure out who did what. I'm still looking for artist info regarding SRW/T Z.

Bitching finished.

You need a download manager if you really want to get these china lossless album, like "FlashGet" (it's written below the final download link).
I managed to download everything i needed myself but "3rd SRW A OST" which is gonna take 2 weeks to download ;)

I know your matter about vgmdb, the composition breakdown is the most difficult and time consuming information to get..
Let me explain why, it's because 80% of the time you can't find these information on the web and we need to get the breakdown ourself from the booklet. And this is adding another bunch of problems:
- we need proper scans of the booklet
- booklet must have the composition breakdown and that's not always the case! (i am thinking about the recent Genso Suikoden Trierkreis booklet)
- then you have to translate manually compositors/artists japanese names from a booklet and that's a very difficult task if you don't know how to write japanese characters.
- you also need some skills at searching/translating these japanese names on the web (and that's probably the reason there's so few contributors to vgmdb), poeple will rather post nothing than post something incomplete or completely wrong.
- this is very time consuming, it can take me around 30 minutes to find and translate around 25 Drama actors for drama albums..
- finally you need to know how vgmdb works, this is not the hardest task if you just copy/paste informations. But it's a major pain to link artists to their role and discographies. (i am personally leaving this task to other staff members)

We'r probably less than 50 recurrent contributors, and even less to be able to do all the tasks i described above. The databese keeps growing with a thousand verifications to do everyday.

This was off-topic but i hope that gives an idea of our job.

Did you have anything on the Judgment chapter?

Myrkul

If you mean "Super Robot Wars Judgement", there is no official soundtrack related to that game.

Yes...but some month ago i've found a site with the SRW J BGM (unofficial) collection, but i've formatted five time since that day...and i can't find that site again...

Myrkul
04-09-2009, 07:05 AM
I can't help you much with Judgement, i am not used to game rips and i seems to be not as good as official releases to find that kind of stuff.

You could request it on the request board, do a search if it was maybe posted before. Or finaly you could rip it yourself..

On a side note, just a quick word to say i managed to download everything i needed from these chinese links. (this is probably more for Jessie, man if you are busy this is to let you know i don't need you to upload these albums for me -but if you want to do that for others go ahead-)

At least you also took them and have a nice SRW collection (it's not 100 % complete, but it's definitely a good one).

The titles are added, but most are in japanese, i ripped this, so i had to add the names to each track manually, took me almost a day.
There never was a soundtrack for this game.

In that case, can you tell me if the music is materially different from the Super Robot Taisen OG Original Generations OST? Is it all new music, or are the songs just variations of what we've heard before?

Some are the same, others are newly added, there are 146 tracks on this rip as well i forgot to remove perfectio's theme from the upload, so there are 118 tracks on the OG soundtrack, that means that at least 27 tracks not on the OG soundtrack are in this.

Sadly the disc is only around 19 minutes long, I'm sorely dissapointed. The songs they did pick were among the best I've heard (so far), yet I wanted more!! I mean could've we at least got everyone's theme?

I ecstatically await a real soundtrack release or a fan rip of at least good quality to come out.

Yeah, well at least it was FREE :), however 19 minutes is unacceptable. Isnt the longest song, just that song that plays in the trailer, lol.

Yes...it was free, but like you said still was pretty half hearted right there (much like the over world/everything out side of battle graphics in general, but I'm getting OT here)

BTW the longest song is the one on the title screen which I think is the same as the one used in the trailer, it's a 2:30 of awesome.
