View Full Version : 8+ versions of the SPIDER-MAN THEME! [mediafire, megaupload]

Hello shriners, it's been a really long time since I've wanted to give back to this awesome place, but it seems you guys already have EVERYTHING! Anyways, I figured I could come up with a little compilation of my own, and here it is.

"Spider-man, Spider-man, does whatever a spider can..."

Who doesn't recognize this little tune nowadays? Well, over the years I collected different versions of the song from awesome bands, and I decided to complete the collection with everything I could get my hands on, and share it with you guys. They're all official versions and covers (so they're all hi-quality; no garage bands here). While some are direct covers of the song, some others are songs with variations from the tune (like the Spider-man movie theme).

-"Spider-man theme" (original 1967 cartoon song we all know and love) +

"Spider-man theme" performed by:

-AEROSMITH (from Spider-Man movie soundtrack)
-APOLLO 440 (from Spider-man PSX game)
-MICHAEL BUBLE (from Spider-man 2 soundtrack)
-THE RAMONES (hidden track from "¡Adios amigos!" album)
-THE FLAMING LIPS (bonus song from Spider-man 3 Special Edition soundtrack) +

-Spider-man The Animated Series theme (2 versions)
-Spider-Man (the movie) Main Title by Danny Elfman
-Spider-man 2 "Spidey theme" by Danny Elfman

technical info: 38.45 RAR; mp3 format; and, um... yeah.

Original Spider-man theme: The one and only. Here are the lyrics ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). It's crazy talk, but it rhymes!

Aerosmith - "Spider-man theme": This is a great rock version, with the lyrics a little bit altered, check them out here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). These lyrics make a little more sense to me...

Apollo 440 - "Spider-man theme": From the (rather good) Playstation game. Apollo 440 is known for mixing samples from classic theme songs with modern beats, and they've done exactly that here. Pretty good as well.

Michael Buble - "Spider-man theme": As in Michael Buble ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). He's Frank Sinatra's long lost grandson or something. Pretty stylish version, for those who are into that.

The Ramones - "Spider-man theme": (also found in their "Greatest Hits Live" album) It's The Ramones. Everyone knows The Ramones. You don't know who The Ramones are? You're a weird person. The Ramones.

Richard Cheese - "Spider-man theme": I found about this guy while looking for more versions, and he's hilarious! He does Lounge (mellow, Piano-ey) versions of aggressive rock songs (punk, metal, etc.) like Guns n' Roses, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Nirvana, etc. and the result is simply LOL material. You may want to check out other stuff by him. (This particular one is not so funny, but trust me, others are fun-nay!).

The Flaming Lips - "Theme from Spider-Man (bonus track)": Found in the Spider-man 3 special edition Soundtrack only. I had a hard time getting this one, so you better enjoy it, dangit! :-D (This is NOT "The Supreme Being Teaches Spider-Man How to Be in Love" from the regular soundtrack. That's just your old Flaming Lips blabbity blah.)

"Spider-Man The Animated series opening theme (TV rip)" V1 & V2: The 1994 series, mind you. I was amazed when I found out that Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry composed and performed this one too! (And then I said to myself, "So that's why it's so awesome!") He plays around with the theme tune, and adds synthesized voices. After searching all over for an mp3 of this song, I gave up and decided to make my own mp3 from an episode. I just ripped an mp3 from the audio stream of the video file. The only thing I could get from the Net was a very crappy RM version, which has the song in a lower pitch (which is how I remember it), so I decided to make two versions of the song: one as I found it on the video episode, and a lower-pitched one (which IMO sounds better). I'm not an expert in sound editing or mp3 VBR MHz or whatever, so please forgive me if you consider it low quality (but it sounds pretty good to me).

Danny Elfman - "Main Theme": Elfman is a movie theme master, and he flirts a little bit with the core tune for the movie, enough for some people to recognize it. But I would've liked it if he had compromised more with integrating the theme song into the orchestral piece; but that's just me.

Danny Elfman - "Spidey theme": For the second movie, I think he tried to integrate the core theme song a little more. Sounds good enough, hope it does to you too.

Well, that's it. This is my very first contribution, so if I did anything wrong please tell me. I hope you like it, otherwise I'll just go back to my shameful leeching ways

See you!

Needs Tenacious D Version :D

01-19-2008, 02:55 PM
Hehe, maybe. But I couldn't find it. It's not on any album of theirs, as far as I can tell. According to this page ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), Tenacious D covers the song "somewhat unfaithfully" only during concerts, so I myself will pass on that one. ;-)

Wow, my thread went off the front page really quick... I guess I'll have to be guilty of shameless bumping just this once, SO TERRIBLY SORRY... :naughty:

Looks interesting.

You know what I've been looking for, for years and years?

The closing Spider-Man theme from 1967. Not the one with the end credits, but the instrumental one during the animation montage of various episodes that precedes the end credits theme and usually followed the commercial after the end of the regular cartoon. This is an entirely different piece.

The last time I saw this was when they last aired the original show in Chicago in the early 1980s. And none of my efforts at finding this lost work has borne fruit.

That's a really catchy song.

Ahhh >_< Megaupload doesn't work for me, and the mediafire link is down...wish I'd gotten here sooner. If you could reupload to mediafire, or better yet, Rapidshare, I'd be really grateful.

This might be somewhat off-topic, but does anyone know where I can get the music for the 2003 animated series that ran on MTV?

The same for their trailer:

Thanks for this, gotta love Spidey!

EDIT: Also if anyone likes metal versions of things then Epica do a Spider-Man medley on their Classical Conspiracy album, it is backed with a full orchestra and is excellent.
