edit;

i decided that since Square Enix changes FF every ten years (kids become adults) the change of FF was something natural
It's the same that happened with ff7. The people who played since ff1 and now were something like 18 years old at the time, did not like ff7.However, people who had started ff with ff7 (like me back then) loved it, and the same applies to people who played a even earlier games .
I guess it's natural for ppl to get bored of videogames ..and that happened to me at the age of 17-18 . I play games very rarely now.

Everything else is subjective, also yeah SE doesn't give a shit about petitions .
I guess I am too romantic . (no pun intented)

I'm just saying, this is a waste of time and effort. Square does as Enix wants. Your opinions mean nothing, nor do the opinions of anyone on this board.

QFT. But XII is still the bee's knees :p

I don't like people with MySpaces (did I just piss off all of ffshrine?), which is enough reason for me to not sign. That and that it just won't work. Besides, I liked FFXII.

FFXII may not be perfect, but neither were any of th FFs 1-10

I have a myspace for networking with my music, but I agree myspace has got to be one of the most annoying creations on the internet.

But back to the petition, didn't petitions only work in the 1920's?

Yes I believe that's how the public convinced Square to release FFminus47 on the wireless

Locke_FF36

I never even heard of that, well good for that petition.

But a petition like this will not do anything, ever, at all. Minor things like for wireless, yes, but something like this, no.

Chill. XIII will be a return to roots.

actually if you've played the SNES FFs, FFXII is a return to roots.

In terms of the sparseness of the story, I suppose. In terms of gameplay, not at all :)

they brought back the magic buying, the crystal obsession, and the story thing.

Sorry, but I have to agree that FFXII was a lot more like the past FFs with the whole story within a story.
IMO, FFX felt more away from the FF "style".

Interesting change of opinion to say the least, and an interesting way of looking at the situation. I started playing with the original and had no problem transitioning to VII, but then again I had no problem transitioning to XII, either.

I'm glad you're able to realize that there are going to be fans of almost everything that will ever be released by anyone, and not just Square. Respecting the opinions of others is important, as is holding onto those things that mean the most to you. VII-X will always be there for you, me and everyone :D

I found XII to be the best FF. But maybe that's because I've played so many different kinds of RPGs (let alone games in general) over the years and haven't become attached to a particular "kind" of RPG or anything. I approach every game with certain expectations but enough of an open mind that if it's not done the way I anticipated, I will just look at it from a "is this a good game in its own right?" point of view. I'm not saying that objectively FFXII is the best FF, period, that would be a weird thing to say, but rather that I simply look at it *as a game* not *as a FF game.* Prior to FFXII I liked FFVI most anyway :-P

Well... I can't really agree with this. I too began with FF#1 and .. .. not only did I not have a hard time transitioning to FFVII, but.. i welcomed it with open arms and still, to this day, love the game.

Time for new petition, for no more petitions.

Writing video games like FF, is a form of art for the creators, writers, etc. etc.
leave it alone and let them make and sell what they want.

Axersia, if you're over 18, I love you. If not, eh not so much. BECAUSE I HATE MySpooge and all its dumbass users (except for certain bands, which I don't see a need for them to be on that fucking dumb site anyway.).

I've played many of the FF games, and I do like most of them. FFVII is by far my favorite, but I am not adverse to any of the newer games. I gladly sign!

In before the inevitable closing.

Also, Final Fantasy petitions are an even bigger waste of time than ten-year late reviews. Which I wasn't sure was possible till I stumble across yet another petition.
