Okay, I'm about to be caught up at work, and I don't get a trojan virus that locks me up whenever I open the site, so I'll start posting requests again this week.

I do have a request of my own, though. I admit that I may be barking up the wrong tree, and if so I apologise in advance.

As I've often said, I'm no sound engineer and I don't have much in the way of equipment to do more than rip CDs to mp3. However, I've noticed that there's a number of Marvel Superheores animated programs currently airing on the Disney XD channels late at night. Further, they don't have an announcer or coming attractions yapping over the end credits like most channels do. I'm wondering if anybody has the gear to record the end title themes directly from the telly in mp3 format for any of the following:

Avengers: United They Stand
The Incredible Hulk/The Incredible Hulk and She-Hulk
Iron Man (1996)
Silver Surfer
The Spectacular Spider-Man

I'm not greedy and don't need whole episode scores ripped, just end title themes. I've noticed that the end title themes tend to be "clean" instrumental versions free of SFX, so I'd really like to have them in mp3 format to add to any future versions of Mike's Ultimate Superhero Theme Mix ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).

If this works out, the person who makes it happen can claim their reward from my TARDIS Databank of scores.

Also, if the process proves sound, (pardon the pun), I'd be quite demonstrative in my gratitude if it can be done for the main and end titles of these two on the Nicktoons channel:

Wolverine and the X-Men

Along with Madkalnod's request, it may be possible to find the programs online in digital format and then extract the audio from the credits. The only problem with this is that many of the programs are encoded with 128kbps audio. Still might sound better than taking them directly off the TV.

i think i found those with my cuckoo searching skills (it amazes the kids, I also do b-day partys)......but if anyone's interested, I put together my own "Stand By Me" soundtrack, featuring the complete songs in the movie and the score cues....it's kind of better than the 20 minute official soundtrack.......20 minutes? atleast you can buy it for 7 bucks these days.

I'd be up for a more 'complete' Stand By Me soundtrack!

Because the greatests soundtracks deserves high quality rips, here is the post created by Lens of Truth, for this particular score.

Also the link posted by stevomufc1, it's not the deluxe edition, which has a better mastering sound and more music included.

This is a score that i honestly consider a masterpiece, and as much as that word is called in vain in these days, it's not the case of 'The Final Conflict'. Truly one of the best scores Goldsmith composed in his life.

I downloaded it on a whim (I saw the movie but that was a long time ago and frankly I couldn't remember what the music was like) and all I can say is WOW ... glad I downloaded it ... I really really really dig it man!

Yeah I agree with you! I can't believe how outstanding that score is! Thanks for the link! I did a search and oddly enough nothing came up but dead links.

Gonna disagree with you, not that it's a bad score because it really isn't, but the (deserved) popularity of the movie, overlook other Tan Dun scores from movies of the same genre, and those i include 'Hero' and 'The Banquet'.
The first has a strong and memorabe theme, whilst 'The Banquet' has an unusual presence of piano for this kind of music, and features some dissonant passages.

And for others Wuxia movies, let's not forget the music of Shigeru Umebayashi, for 'House of Flying Daggers' and 'Curse of the Golden Flower'.
'Flying Daggers' has such a beautiful love theme, that can be at the same time nostalgic or tragic, depending on what instruments and music tone is played.
'Curse of the Golden Flower', is a curious score because the male choir is violent and imposing, where the female choir is more subtle and magic, and both sections of the choir complement with each other by the usual presence of chinese instruments.

The score for House of Sand and Fog by James Horner is, unquestionably, one of the composer’s most dramatic. The final thirty minutes of the film is scored almost continuously and the powerfully emotional music is not soon forgotten after the closing credits.

Both Kingsley and Connelly are already being talked about with expectations of Oscar nominations. DreamWorks will be opening the film on December 19, for Academy consideration, and it will widen on December 26.

No such composer interview exists on the second soundtrack booklet.
Composer notes from Booklet "At the first meeting we all agreed on a classical theme using an orchestra. Until that point, I was planning on using normal robotic music for the action scenes. Since we decided on using an orchestra, I used it for all the songs. I wanted to make classical music not pop music. The word "orche" (orchestra) caused a chain reaction on what type of music I would create. Director Nobuyoshi Habara requested that I used an orchestra by some means or another.
The soundtracks for anime are often created with a generalized technique that the type of mysic for a particular scene is already determined, so there's not much difference between composers. I did not want to use this technique. I wanted to do something witha stronger impact. Since I was going to use an orchestra, I suggested we record it overseas. Surprisingly my suggestion was openly accepted.
I thought if i use an orchestra that is equivalent in scale to John Williams, I should be capable of creating the same scale of music. This soundtrack would not be an anime soundtrack, but a soundtrack that is enjoyable by itself. People often divide an orchestra into samll groups such as brass instruments, string instruments only, solo instruments and piano to create vivid sounds. But to use full orchestra for all the music was the whole point of the project. I believe the music became more symphonic.
I thought the warsaw philharmonic was cheerful, and other composers such as Mr. Masamichi Amano and Shiro Sagisu told me that the Warsaw Phil was good. I'd been hoping to work with them for a long time.
When we record a performance with an orchestra, the echos of the hall also need to be recorded. Even if we spend extra money to have an orchestra perform and record in a studio, it would not be much different from having a session in Japan. In fact, it was worthwhile to go there. Their sound is different from a Japanese orchestra, since Japanese performers tend to be more passive, while the Warsaw performers are more assertive, and the performance itself gets so excited.
About composer Tsuneyoshi Saito
Born on April 29, 1965 in the Shizoka Prefecture, Mr. Saito started to play classical piano at the age of 7, and started composing at the age of 9, receiving much attention as a child pianist. He graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in a music major with a concentration on composition. While he was in college in 1990, He organized "Kryzler & Kompany" with Taro Hakase, a violinist, and Kinshin Takeshita, a bass player. They actively did concerts domestically and internationally and performed together with artists from overseas. The recording session he did with David Forster and Celine Dioni for the Fuji TV Drama, the theme song of "To Lovers," and especially "To Love You More" is still fresh in our memory. After the breakup of "Kryzer & Kompany," he did music for NHK "The Central Tokyo Regional Network" various TV series, "Each Precipitous," "Tenchi Muyo!," Descendants of Darkness," "NAZCA - Blades of Fate-" and "Tornado Bodyguard." He also produced for various singers such as Hiroko Yakushimaru, Keizo Nakanishi, Yumi Adachi, Misato Watanabe and others. Besides these singers, he has written for a wide range of projects such as musical, cinema and commercial theme songs such as Asami Maki Ballet Company's "Cachein's Dream" musicals "Alice in Wonderland," "Rosta Lantos" and the rock opera, "Hamlet." Commercial songs include clieints of Shiseido, Nissan, Lenowan and Heineken. Theme songs include "The Newscaster" by ANB Station, and "Romantic Journey - Gifts from the Earth" for TBS station. He received the Excellence Award at Art Festival from the Agency for Cultural Affairs for "Passion" performed by the Takarazuka Girls' Operetta Company, Cosmos Troupe in 1999. He released his solo album, "Relaxing Piano" in February 2001. He continues to strive to reach a new world in his creation by not being exclusive to classical music, but by producing and arranging various types of music.

You somehow extracted the actual MP3 file that was playing? How the hell did you do that?

It's exceedingly simple mate. There are a number of browser add ons that will extract streaming content from web pages that don't offer a download option.

One I use is Download Helper ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) for Firefox. That can extract streaming MP3s as well as such media as Youtube FLV video files which it can also convert into WMV or AVI whatever you want. The site must be open in your browser at the time and you muct choose the correct file as sometimes several media files can play at once. Eg. The Wonderwoman site loads an FLV streaming trailer too as youseph pointed out.

I'm sure there are other such applications out there and ones for other browsers, but that's just what I use, LGGuy16 may have a different one, but all produce the same result - basically a perfect copy of the file on the server that's streaming the content. Remember: There is NOTHING on the internet that can't be copied / downloaded provided it can be seen and heard [and then some :)]
