Does anyone have disc 4 from the Pirates of the Caribbean: Soundtrack Treasures Collection? I'd really like to get it in full -- remixes and all -- and while I've done a search of the forum, I've only been able to find part of the disc (someone uploaded the suites, but not the remixes).

I'd like to find it at higher quality, but I've no idea where it comes from. Does anyone know? I suspect it might be stock music, but I've not gone digging for information yet as it hasn't been high on my priority list.

I will. It'll take a while, though. I just checked my tracks and they are badly splitted. Meaning at the beginning of each track you hear the end of the track before. I tried to merge them again, but they don't fit very well. I'll download a clean image and split it up properly for you.

It's not Aliens, that I can tell you for sure. Might be Pacific Heights, it's the same style and all, but I don't recall that particular cue from the OST, but I could be wrong.

This soundtrack is absolutely wonderful and I have waited so long to hear it in full apart from the anime. The anime itself is about a young man who finds himself in a position where he sees the face of a female assassin (ein). Rather than kill him off, the organization erases his memory and has Ein train him and gives him the name of Zwei. Zwei and Ein take on numerous missions in a cold and detached manner leading to numerous high-profile assassinations.

Many of the scenes, and thus the music, are sad as we watch these young assassins take orders without question and kill ruthlessly. Many of my favorite tracks are accompanied by female vocals in the style of Lisa Gerard. Like most anime soundtracks, there are a variety of styles used throughout but there is a consistent quality with the melody that brings it all together.

I also highly recommend the anime even though about half way through it takes a major turn in direction and gains sort of an urban feel in actions and in music. I fear that the second soundtrack will lose the classical quality to fit the tone of the show as I have already heard through a few tracks but there is not much I can do to change that.

EDIT: Seems what I had that was labelled "Blade Runner The Gongo Expanded" is in fact the Off World release.

In that case, I'm looking for any other Blade Runner releases not mentioned below (particularly the ultra-rare MR3 release by the Esper crew):

I've already got the Deck Definitive, the Trilogy, the Gongo, the Off World Version, the Esper, the '94 and the '82 OSTs. I remember there used to be a Blade Runner music blog with everything on it, but sadly it's died before I got a chance to get anything more, so now I'm scrambling for anything, any quality, even remotely related to the film.

If anyone wants any of the one's I have mentioned above, just ask and I'll upload, they're all around or above 192 kbps, except the Gongo and Off World versions, which are only in 128kbps (which I'm also looking for better versions of).

The Core: There is a 2CD edition from Intrada, not complete as I recall it. There are also some other versions around with 1 or 2 more tracks.

Everyone has that score, be it VGM or Film that they have been looking for for ages. Now i am a Hunter of such things. Sometimes i cannot come across the score people are after. But 9 times out of 10, assuming the score is released in some format, i can find it..

Now, as i say, everyone has that something they are trying to find. So i am putting myself into the position here as a hunter to get those scores. Now, there are a few basic rules that apply which i will go over now, to get them out of the way so everyone knows where they stand....Including Me!

Rule 1: You can request as much as you like, but once you have requested it, please do not keep asking if i have found it. Once i have found it i will let you know. If i cannot find it after 3 months, i shall give up and again, let you know.

Rule 2: If you request something, im sure you have stuff of your own, either bought, downloaded or suchlike. So i wil ask for those that wish for me to hunt to make a list, if they do not have one already, of stuffs they have. This is one way i actually hunt for scores, you never know, you may have something someone is after already.. If you are not prepared to send me a list of stuff you have, consider yourself not worthy enough for me to hunt for..

Rule 3: Please, when stating a score you are after, or a score you are adding to the thread, please add as much info about it as you can...IE:
Name of Score
Release...Wether it is commercially available, Promo, Complete etc
Name of Composer (im good, but memory isnt 100%)

And thats it for now...I will do my best for you guys here and all i ask in return is patience, respect, be thankful and send me a list....

nah, I think the last place I got it was when I got it off that guy who had the ftp running and letting some of us d/l direct... thats how I initially got my first load of osts... but i lost them all unfortuantely and had to restart collecting a few months back. Anyone know of a program (and I'm not sure this is even possible) that allows cutting an MP3 file without re-encoding it?

I have this LP rip and side one (multiple songs) is one MP3 file and side two (multple songs) is one MP3 file. I want to split it up into tracks but not if that means re-encoding it.

Don't know if that is even possible or what software to use if it is ... any ideas?

Without question one of the most historic releases of our CD Club to date! Lonely Are The Brave … finally!! Jerry Goldsmith’s first major motion picture … and hired on the recommendation of the legendary Alfred Newman, no less!

Famous for featuring Kirk Douglas’s favorite of his own performances (the actor inscribed in his personal copy of the script “of all the movies I have made, this is my favorite”), Lonely Are The Brave is a poignant and symbolic modern western. Based on Edward Abbey’s novel The Brave Cowboy, which was adapted for the screen by Dalton Trumbo, the film tells the sad story of a lone cowboy named Jack Burns (Douglas). Increasingly out of place in the world he lives in, Burns struggles to overcome lost love and cling to times past.

Some roads are long indeed. But this one has led to a resolution that now seems so perfectly choreographed and timed. Joining the celebration of what would have been Goldsmith’s 80th birthday, and coinciding with the exciting July 7 premiere of the film on DVD, comes this premiere release of the film’s historic score. That chapters as important as this one are still being added to Jerry Goldsmith’s recorded legacy is nothing short of miraculous.

Even on a project as early as this one, we see that Goldsmith was already composing scores that could be described as among the best he ever wrote. Lonely Are The Brave most assuredly is just that. It is arguably his best western score, written for the best western he ever scored.

In addition to the complete original score, the album contains a number of cues dropped from the final cut of the film. A Goldsmith classic!
