First of did you first message him about it? rather than sitting here calling him ajerk, i have you know he is a member that i truly respect, he is russ on the ffs.

Of course I did, I'm not an unreasonable guy, I'm not going to call him names for no reason

SOULSEEK CHAT LOG
********------------*********

[17Jul09 20:42:36][xxxxx] the_recluse, why do you keep removing tracks that I try to download from you?

[17Jul09 21:25:28][xxxxx] Hey dude, why was I banned?? I just asked you a simple question?? Come on, what have I done to you? If you get an error when trying to browse my files, please say so... But so far, I haven't broken any of your rules... I do share movie/game scores....

********------------*********

That's what I told him yesterday... He had done the same thing (removing files) already some time ago (which is why I said "why do you KEEP removing...")
Somewhere between the first and second post, I was banned... and I think ignored too, because he hasn't answered since....

OrangeC; I'm sure he's nice to some people... Maybe he's just nice to people he can download stuff from himself... From what I could see, he had a very, very large collection of music... But where I come from, it's not nice to just ban/ignore people for no reason without even saying why... Like I said before, I share over 30,000 files on soulseek myself... I'm not a leecher... I just don't get why I couldn't download one single album...

Anyway, I'll just move on now... Apparently, there are just some people out there who don't want to share... It makes sense for them to be using a P2P program then :(

Hopefully I'll get the album someday :)

No, it's a custom cue by Magic Box Music... It's not even on one of their albums! :(

However, I could send you a REALLY high quality WAV rip from the trailer (annd I mean the actual HD Apple trailer, not a YouTube rip :)) The sound quality is actually surprisingly good, with a minimal amount of sound effects.

O and parker1, thanks for those albums you uploaded. No, I don't want transcoded/fake lossless tracks, I'll stick to MP3 then :) I just wanted to see whether you had it; I came across a user on soulseek called the_recluse who has the HP6 game ost in lossless quality, however, he seems to be a true j*rk when it comes to sharing music... As soon as I tried to download the track, he moved the files, and when I asked him why he'd done it, he banned me :S... And it wasn't as if I was a leecher or anything... I have over 30,000 files shared :S

O and something else, I don't know if people know about this website, but it features a lot of custom made covers for various soundtracks; they're really professional, you almost can't even tell that they're custom-made...

yes, i would love if you sent that track up for me. and sorry bout him

Somebody have Rolfe Kent - 17 Again (Promo) already?

There are no sources for it and the tracklisting has been featured on one site only on the net. So I guess this one won't leak too soon.

Get incontact with me on slsk and I'll try and sort this out for you. I removed the files simply cos I'm sorting my HDD's out. Trying to make space and what not. I dunno about the ban. Don't see you on my ban list nor did I get your message. Contact me on slsk and I'll try my best to help you out with this score ;)

Edit: I just took a look at my log and this is the only message I got from you...[17Jul09 19:40:08][Rblake] the_recluse, why do you keep removing tracks that I try to download from you?

MrM
07-18-2009, 07:16 PM
I'll pass parker, but I've got something I think you'll like (if your past posts - I've lurked here for god knows how long - are any indication).

Friends, Romans, countrymen... I have just come into possession of a Spider-Man 3 boot with no sound effects. Tracklisting looks like this:

1. Main Title (3:16)
2. Harry in Lab / Web / Meteor (2:43)
3. Enter Flint Marko (:57)
4. Harry Attacks Peter (4:10)
5. Birth of the Sandman (3:15)
6. Transformation Montage (3:03)
7. Subway Confrontation (4:39)
8. Church Montage (4:24)
9. Spider-Man Returns / Venom Attacks (5:29)
10. Helpless Spider-Man / Harry To The Rescue (4:32)
11. Sandman Confesses To Peter (5:32)
12. Happy Ending (2:34)
13. Unknown Cue (1:49)

Two things about that last track: any of you guys have that boot with the track 'Hawkes at Pag's Grave'? Well, that's a fake - and this isn't. This track has Chris Young's gorgeous love theme (which Raimi and Sony so "brilliantly" replaced with spliced in versions of Elfman's theme, which imo wasn't that great). Also, due to the 'unused' nature of the track, I don't know where it fits into the score proper. I renamed my version 'Peter and M.J.' and stuck it in between Subway and Church, but that's your prerogative.

The whole thing runs about 46 minutes, so my suspicion is that this is the master for a score release that never happened. This is far from comprehensive - it's missing the two uses of Elfman's 'Responsibility theme', and those happened to be a few of my favorite cues - but it's better than the 7-track promo that's been floating around as well as the sfx-plagued homebrews.

Furthering my suspicion is that there are no final-cut edits to be found here. No tracked-in Elfman cues, no spliced-in Debney/Lurie overdubs, just 100% Christopher Young mastery. So there's some surprises tucked away that we didn't get to hear onscreen.

I'm uploading it as we speak (type?), but my upload speed is a little wimpy, so I should have it up in about an hour. Would someone be savvy enough to make front/back covers for this?

no, im saying how most john williams score have many cues mixed into one song, such as jurassic park's "Incident At Isla Nublar" Or basically, the whole ROTS score soundtrack, i wont compare the two, there my favorite composers.

Ok, that was me having a subtle dig at his album sequencing. Putting the Boggart music backwards in Prisoner of Azkaban always struck me as strange, but all in the name of 'listening experience', I guess.

Oh, checked with the DVD - the first half of track 9 [first 2:50 or so] should be split from the second half [2:51 to end], and that second half should go after track 10. This covers about 95% of all the final battle music, there's maybe 30 seconds missing.

Will the Spider-Man 3 leak means that an oficial release will be announced soon?
There is a recent thread on FSM message board speculating the title about a "big and unlimited" soundtrack release, that will be announced in the next comic-con.
Well Spider-Man is a comic book character and a very popular one, as far as i know.

Awesome! Thanks for the Spidey 3 upload, MrM. And for the excellent covers, steven_24. Great stuff.

And to mad777 for upping The Right Stuff. That'll tide me over until my physical CD decides to arrive. It's been my "holy grail" unreleased score for many years, so I'm thrilled to be able to check it out before the CD is delivered. This one made me stop listening to MrM's Spidey upload, which I'll have to return to in a little while...

It's been my holy grail for a long time too, lol. I'm loving the pop single at the end, cheeseball though it may be.

can I get a link please?

anyways :

well, that being released only at comic-con is good and bad for me in two ways :

one, if it is, and we all know - parker1 ♥ spider-man - then THATS AWESOME!!
two - i wont be able to attend comic-con, so i cant get one :(

this may sound weird...but if someone does attend, and this is available, can you ship it to me? i'll pay you up to 20$...(kinda low on cash right now)

Fear not parker, FSM will be selling it on their site as they always do, they're just announcing it at Comic-Con.

And I hate to burst your bubble, but I don't think it's going to be Spider-Man. Listening to the FSM podcast, they clearly didn't show 3 as much love as the first two. C'est la vie, I suppose...

Good because it's an unlimited title. You can buy it anytime you want, that will never be sold out.
But it could be bad because there's no title announcement yet. It could be Spider-man 3 or any other title. Some are saying that could be Gremlins or Innerspace, and a few other titles.

about the bad : I wont be getting my hopes up for it or anything, cause if i do, and it's gremlins or something, i will surely be dissappointed. but if i dont i'll just be like wow what else is new? ya know but if it's not i would certainly love an expanded Jurassic Park or HOOK....

besides..didnt gremlins already get a legitimate release? is this expanded or...Or maybe BATMAN (1989/1992?)

Fear not parker, FSM will be selling it on their site as they always do, they're just announcing it at Comic-Con.

It could by any title though, but I don't know what is. It could be Batman, Gremlins, some obscure title or whatever.
Guess we will only know when they will announce it. Whatever the title is, it will be announced very soon. That's the only certain fact for now.

I actually posted ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) a promo of Spider-Man 3 with Christopher Young and Deborah Lurie, plus a suite.
Is it the real one you are saying you have?

The promo that MrM posted is the one that seems more like an "official" release, with the music of the last battles included without any sfx, and only Chris Young music around 46 minutes of total time.
Much like the usual 45 minutes of music officially released from Spider-Man 1 & 2.

FunnyML
07-19-2009, 01:48 PM
There were 3 promotional albums leaked out from Spider-Man 3. One with Young's cues, one with Deborah Lurie's additional score and the last one with Debney's cues for the picture. I uploaded them in the lossless thread quite some time ago.
And of course the bootleg with the last battle track.
And I'm not very keen on getting an official release. Even if there was one, they would probably pick the cues which have already been leaked out.

About the Spidey 3 covers posted on the previous page, it should be "Spider-Man 3" not "Spiderman 3". Not to nitpick, but for the purists out there it might annoy them (luckily I'm not one of them).

Ok, so here's what I did - using my amateurish knowledge of Audacity, I split up those combined tracks I was telling you about earlier.

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

In this rar, we have:

Spidey Meets The Sandman - beginning patched over with another part of the track.

Subway Confrontation - used a direct rip from the DVD to cover the lack of an ending (unfortunately parker, the mp3 didn't quite gel with the track, but thank you anyway). This has one sound effect, a ping from when Spidey rips off the metal covering but it could be worse.

The Final Confrontation - one nice, ten minute juggernaut of music. Track 9 of the boot I posted earlier is split up and bookends 10, so it's in film order.

So if you're a stickler like me and want it in film order, it'll look like this:

Main Title
Harry In Lab / Web / Meteor
Enter Flint Marko
Harry Attacks Peter
Birth Of The Sandman
Spidey Meets The Sandman
Transformation Montage
Subway Confrontation
Church Montage
The Final Confrontation
Sandman Confesses To Peter
Happy Ending
Unknown Cue [well, we don't know where that goes yet]

Enjoy!

he'll know there's a boot of the score, screwing us over indefinately.

and im not tryin to sound rude or anything, so please dont take it this way, but I have seen SM3 3423564567445 times, trust me when i say, it's unused in the film. need more proof? look at the church montage cue, it has a deep choir cut from the final edit of the film, as opposed to the film version.

Even if there was one, they would probably pick the cues which have already been leaked out.

can i get the debney promo link please funnyML?

MrM

im sure he does but if we ever findout this will raise a problem :

he'll know there's a boot of the score, screwing us over indefinately.

and im not tryin to sound rude or anything, so please dont take it this way, but I have seen SM3 3423564567445 times, trust me when i say, it's unused in the film. need more proof? look at the church montage cue, it has a deep choir cut from the final edit of the film, as opposed to the film version.

Oh, I know it's not actually in the film. Neither is Happy Ending or 'Web'. But I generally follow the FSM/Intrada/LaLaLand rule - place it as the composer wanted it to be placed (perfect example would be the Superman Box Set - STM's score doesn't even pretend to match the film version, but it's how JW wrote it). And I'd rather have Young's cue where it belongs instead of the Debney/Lurie replacements (don't get me wrong, they earned their paychecks, but it is kinda hackwork).

And I think regarding his knowledge of these boots - it's generally called a 'promo' because composers are promoting their work. How do you know Young himself didn't leak it? Most composers don't get jack from CD sales (I remember James Horner saying he's entitled to 7% of the revenue - as composer and album producer - but hasn't seen a dime from anything except Titanic), they're more concerned with just getting the music out there. I know John Ottman (as an example) has sent fans CD-Rs of complete scores like X2 and Superman Returns, and all they had to do was ask. And hasn't Sony made nice and sparkling clear that they won't release the music, or give the rights to anyone else?

And I won't claim to have seen it as many times as you have, but it's good to know there's someone else that doesn't completely hate it.

well..i mean if young did leak it we woulda gotten it on intrada most likely...and yes they have many times, like it would kill them to release this damn thing. besides, i was at an expo, and asked young about it. seeing as he said it was a "maybe" type of release, i dont think he leaked it. but i do wanna know who did..but i loved SM3, topher was a badass eddie, black-suited spidey was awesome, and i remember sitting in the theater thinking "i gotta pick this score up". guess we all know how THAT turned out...but, even though I love it, im sure the deleted footage will change peoples minds about it if they make another SM2.1 (now 3.1) or something..

oh, one more thing..JOHN Ottman will send me a legit copy of X2??? CAN I GET HIS ADDRESS?

MrM
07-19-2009, 11:32 PM
Oh, I agree. Sony underestimates attention spans... Dark Knight did fine at 2 1/2 hours, Spidey 3 would be a much better film and have more room to breathe.

I'm afraid I don't have his address, sorry. His website might have it, though.

Hey guys, I'm a bit too lazy to search for all the stuff about the Spider-Man 3 promos, expanded scores or bootlegs, but I've wondered, if there's actually a complete score for this movie? I have some experience in creating complete custom scores and maybe I want to create one for this movie (which would contain all the music from the movie in chronological playing order with minimum SFX - use edited in-movie audio only if there's no SFX-less cue available).
Is there any demand for such a project or can a complete movie score already be created by merging the promo and bootleg tracks out there?

It's quite different to star wars. SW is more adventure, heroics, and almost every main or secundary character has a theme, while ST is more explore the unknown universe, noble, mysterious, and the main theme is not for a character but for a spaceship.

Star Trek is an essential Goldsmith title, but that's just a tip of the iceberg in his canon of work. He scored many different genres of movies from sci-fi to westerns, to comedy and horror, to thrillers and action flicks. Unlike Spielberg/Williams, Burton/Elfman, Hitchcock/Herrmann, and etc; he doesn't have a particularly work relation with any director.

Personally he's in my top 3 composers list, the what i call the 3 J's: John Williams, Joe Hisaishi and Jerry Goldsmith.

I checked my discs from Howard again. I definitely have the "Bean TV series choral theme" (as Howard called it). But that's all.

However, if anyone is interested in the animated series music, I have some cues of that.
01 - Bean Animated Opening
02 - Bean Longer Version
03 - Bean Big Band Opening
04 - Bean Big Band Closing
05 - Funny Man Song

And for all those, who got my version of the Bean movie score: I didn't include track titles in this, since Howard didn't have one. He only remembered "Mission Improbable", which is the only track I tagged. I found some documents about other cues as well now, so if you like to replace some titles with the official one because you aren't a friend of self-made track listings just like me, you can do now: "Theme", "Airport Chase", "Opening", "Ending". Shouldn't be too hard to identify the tracks.

I recommend starting with The Motion Picture and The Final Frontier. They are only the commercially released albums, but they'll do for samplers (and they're at 320, to boot). If you like, you can track down expanded / complete versions later.
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Yes, I know I haven't answered your question, but I think you create your own impression of the material rather than have me skew your point of view. I also recommend that you give the Horner and Eidelman scores a shot, too.

EDIT: A bad use of an impersonal pronoun on my part. When I wrote "They are only the..." I was referring to the albums on the attached link, but, due to my error, "they" actually refers to only TMP and TFF. As punishment, there will be no ice cream for me tonight and it's supposed to get around 100F today. My apologies for any misunderstandings that my poor writing caused.

Great descriptions Sanico! Jerry did have very long lasting and fruitful colaborations with Franklin J. Schaffner (Planet of the Apes, Patton, Papillon, Boys From Brazil, Islands in the Stream, Lionheart) and Joe Dante (Gremlins 1+2, Twilight Zone, The 'Burbs, Explorers, Matinee, Small Soldiers, Looney Tunes). I think by anyone's reckoning these are some amazing scores! :)

Sanico
07-21-2009, 06:21 PM
That's right Lens. You can add 'Innerspace' on Dante list too.
Goldsmith invest much of his creative side on Franklin Schaffner movies, they are dramatic, complex and some of them a bit hard to go through. 'Islands in the Stream' was Jerry's personal favorite work, i read that somewhere i think.
For Dante films the music is just plain fun to listen, he liked to work for him, and the music reflects that. :D

Does anyone have a link for an expanded version of Brad Fiedel's T2 score? The original release jumps straight from Main Titles to 'Escape From The Hospital' and I'm missing a lot of the cues...can anyone help? Pretty please with sugar on top?

There isn't one yet

You could try Ease Audio Converter, which works just fine for me, and I'm a PC user.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry mine was late, only get on here every so often, but this thread is awesome, to say the least. Got Ease Audio Converter and it works great, thanks for the suggestion.

Can't wait for Star Trek II Expanded!!! Now hopefully they'll come out with Star Trek III Expanded! There are a few cuts from that movie I wish they included in the soundtrack.

Hello!

I'm looking for Enemy At the Gates in as high quality as possible.
I recently found the score, and although it's constant 192kbps, the recording is bad. I can hardly hear it at all.

Any help would be much appreciated.

(.mp3 would be fine)
