Note: track 17 is corrupt, couldn't find a working one, making it a 64-track release.
Russ uploaded this track here ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), but my sources say it should run 0:56, not 0:44.
your track 17 is just fine. Almost all tracks have lot of silent segments in front and after the actual recording. So I guess track 17 had also this silence segments and run longer, or maybe the source which says it should be 0:56 is wrong.
For my edition I removed all the silence stuff and now the running time is 58:24 min.
Oh by the way... track 43 & 44 are exactly the same cues, even no alteration.
So after all this edition is a 64-track version.

your track 17 is just fine.
OK, the cue Russ uploaded should be correct then with the silence removed. You are right, 43 and 44 are identical. Never listened to the score actually ;)

Believe me, Kyria, we're all in a desperate search for Klaus' TMNT promo. There are few things I wouldn't give to have it on disc. I can assure you that the second someone on these boards finds it, it'll be linked like crazy on here.

So, apparently the guy who runs "Music for a Darkened People" (elfman.filmmusic.com) discovered my blog and decided to report it. Nearly all of my links from Megaupload are gone. That's a good two months of work there. I got a brief e-mail from him asking me "What do you expect to achieve with your blog?" I took the time to compose a thoughtful reply that I wanted to provide rare, out-of-print titles to Danny Elfman fans. I also mentioned that if there was any content he found offensive I would remove the links immediately. Well, after taking the time to do THAT, I checked my Megaupload account and found it depleted. Coincidence? I think not. Never knew that Ryan Kneavney could be such an asshole. I'm sure he thought he was doing the "noble" thing by reporting me. Does he have a contact at FFS Forums? (The only other place I posted my link was franklynot.) Or maybe one of our "spies" betrayed us. At any rate, I guess I'll be removing the monkey banner from my signature now...

You think he got jealous that I used his title? Not that it's original or anything. He doesn't have the copyright on "Music for a Darkened _____."

cuckoo77, thanks for that post on my blog. For a moment there, I thought I might have been the only person who gave a shit. :-P
I listened to the Terminator clips. What great fun! I love how clearly the theme is present in "Opening" and "Salvation." It sounds so Terminator-esque, and I'm not even sure what that means. Also action-packed tracks like "The Harvester Returns," "Reveal/The Escape," and "Final Confrontation" sound like a great deal of fun. Definitely a "must buy"!

not a problem ;-)
but yeah...the Terminator clips are pretty neat....The main theme is very Terminator-esque. It almost sounds like a slight re-working of Fiedel's original theme. I like how Elfman incorporated the classical guitar into some of the cues as well. I've got a nice $20 set aside for Tuesday....looks like Kraft Dinner and Mr. Noodles will play a big part in my diet this week.

My personal thought on it was that the cat ate the bird. And got the bird flu and thus went cuckoo?

I'm a little disappointed at how we don't hear Fiedel's theme clear cut. Didn't McG say the theme "would" be in there? Don't get me wrong I like the Elfman's work and this soundtrack is a "must buy" from just these clips, but its a little disheartening to hear a lack of Fiedel in all those clips. On the other hand they're just clips...

yeah...i heard McG say that too.....i also heard the Fiedel's theme is in the film but not on the album (I don't know what that deal is), but that could be wrong. I really hope we do hear an Elfman rendition of the theme on the album. As much as I like Beltrami's score (I'm so alone), I thought his rendition of the theme at the end was really really poor.

Yeah, you're right. No one here knows which I picked up and
whether or not it was available officially. My Bad.
Here is the tracklist to the ofiicially released one that I bought:
1. House Building
2. Blackout -- Muse
3. St. Francis of Assisi
4. Tumble and Fall -- Feeder
5. Moving In/Lost Boy 1
6. St. NIcholas/Damian and the Donkey Escape
7. Old House/In the Attic
8. Hitsville U.K. -- Clash
9. Chuggers/Sterling/Lost Boy 2
10. Brazil
11. Ransacked
12. La Petite Fille de la Mer -- Vangelis
13. Mum/Parachutes to Africa
14. Nirvana -- El Bosco
There are a few differences but they could be just named differently for the official release - in any case, once I listen to them (over the weekend)

Yeah, you're right. No one here knows which I picked up and
whether or not it was available officially. My Bad.
Here is the tracklist to the ofiicially released one that I bought:
1. House Building
2. Blackout -- Muse
3. St. Francis of Assisi
4. Tumble and Fall -- Feeder
5. Moving In/Lost Boy 1
6. St. NIcholas/Damian and the Donkey Escape
7. Old House/In the Attic
8. Hitsville U.K. -- Clash
9. Chuggers/Sterling/Lost Boy 2
10. Brazil
11. Ransacked
12. La Petite Fille de la Mer -- Vangelis
13. Mum/Parachutes to Africa
14. Nirvana -- El Bosco
There are a few differences but they could be just named differently for the official release - in any case, once I listen to them (over the weekend)
I will let everyone here know (in case they want to know)
That is for sure not the same as the one he posted. The one Bio posted is all John Murphy.

My Version is (like i said) the composer promo score and not for sale.
The Tracklist from Bourne1, is the official release with Various Artists and some Score Tracks, for sale.
but imo, millions is not the best work from murphy.

Even though it is a bit like Edward Scissorhands (one of my favorites)

Theme From Friday The 13th Part 3 / Rock Bottom single , anyone have?
Hey guys, no request but a quick question.
Do you actually listen to all the soundtracks you have? Like, regularly? Do you keep them, delete them, back them up?
In short, what do you do with the hundreds of soundtracks, bootlegs, expanded and complete scores you have on your computer?
I'm just curious...

The completes, expanded, bootlegs, promos I download, I keep and back-up to disc if they are of good quality and aren't riddled with countless 30 second cues and usually listen to quite alot too...I have an hour long bus ride to work, then another hour to get home so that helps to listen to alot of music.
and if i'm feeling really funny, I download Tyler Bates scores, burn them to disc and feed them to the neighborhood dogs, just to see if Bates' music makes them sick too. :D

I listen to them at least once to decide if its something I really like. Usually something new I want to decide if its worth buying the actual disc while amazon has it for the cheapest price it will be. If I don't find the soundtrack to be very good I'll only listen to it once and keep it for later requests. I do a lot of reading for law school so I listen to stuff i like then and also read for pleasure a lot. Mostly I just want to sift through the crap and find the orchestral gems.

I keep archival copies of every album I download burned onto dvds to fulfill requests and to recheck later if my tastes change.
After the archive version has been prepared, I put a duplicate into a second directory and give a listen. The tracks I like I keep in a single enormous playlist (over 3000 tracks and a 133 hours so far,) which I leave on shuffle. It's like having my own radio station. The rest I delete.

well the quality/bitrate is fairly obvious, I should have mentioned that before...but to be more pinpointy, how about the average 50 minute album at a 320kbps.....how many can you fit in mp3 form or WMA?

Well just think of size wise so about 38 cds per data dvd assuming 120mb per cd at 320kbps. I back up my music on dvds as well but mostly because I am paranoid about losing my hard drives. Of course if I download flac its better to just back each disc up on one cd and have it as a direct copy in case i want to re-rip it again in the future.

In my case it varies from dvd to dvd, since the albums are of varying lengths and bitrates. Roughly 40 per disc. (I'm working on number 14.) Given the cost of blank cds versus blank dvds, it's just simpler and cheaper. (And takes less space - 14 discs versus 600.) The downside (and it's not much of one given the size of today's computers,) is that you have to retain a lot of music on the hard drive before burning it. At the rate I accumulate music these days I have about 2 months worth of music waiting to be backed up vulnerable to a drive failure. At this point I'm even archiving backups of my commercial cds so if I need to upload them I don't have to rip them all over again.

I don't even know if this possible but is there any way you could get the OST's for the tv show Supernatural? I'm not talking about the rock-n-roll tracklists, I mean the instrumental scores they play in the bg of the eps. I already have the first season, however I'm pretty sure the rest of the season's are unreleased. I have no idea why they would do that considering the music is gorgeous but there has to be a way to snag that crap.

Well, off the top of my head, I REALLY wish for official complete (or expanded) releases of Goldenthal's Alien 3 and Heat; those two are my favorite from him; same goes for a complete release of Robocop 2.
As for John Williams, I'd kill for a complete/expanded A.I. (the 2-CD Oscar promo's not enough!) or Minority Report, though it's probably too soon for a re-release.
If all else fails for those scores, I would at least pray for the recording sessions to leak somehow.
And from Vangelis, I'd mainly want a COMPLETE Blade Runner score ;). None of this "rethinking and reordering for a better album experience" bullcrap.

Yeah, that's the sad thing with unreleased material. Often the technicians or music associates have stuff like complete recording sessions on their hard drives in their offices and they either don't know it or couldn't care less about it. Whereas we the true music enthusiasts on the outside are forced to contend with incomplete releases most of the time and only dream about what goes on with our favorite scores.

you couldn't be more right...best suggestion yet...the John Morris classic has never seen a release ever and it really really deserves one.....sadly Morris has disappeared into obscure television productions and has been forgotten.

Wow, never knew a complete score for Army of Darkness existed (most likely a DVD rip, eh?). Don't you hate it when websites list things you want, yet don't allow you a way to obtain them? (Note recently: the Nacho Libre score and TMNT promo.)
Oh, and don't expect Ryan Kneavely to give you something to download. He'll just dangle it in your face and laugh at you when you try to grab it. What the hell are you supposed to do with a complete track listing if there's no way to listen to it? That fucker.

I don't think even Kneavely has that....it's even listed on his site as not on CD....the song times are probably directly from the film and he just copied that. If anything, there's a DVD rip somewhere, which is probably pretty disappointing.
we should just call Kneavely at all hours of the night and threaten to eat his neighbors and parents, using famous cartoon character voices.....he'll love that shit.:iveseenthings:

I don't think we'd see a 2 CD release for Star Trek anytime soon. Still, the score IS incomplete as it is.
That is an understatement. There is at least 50% more good music in the film not on the cd.
I don't know why Paramount in particular is so stingy with their score releases. We have never had a complete, or even extended score of Wrath of Khan (my Holy Grail) without sfx. Search for Spock too. The Rocketeer just to name a few. All wonderful scores.

32. Airfield Fight (02:05)
33. New World (01:44)
34. Ritchie's Speech (03:09)
35. End Credits (12:36)
Total running time about 77:43
There is a 34 track version floating around the web (I downloaded it a long time ago,) that is missing the end credits and is thus only 64:57.
La-La Land version is 28 tracks and 65 minutes,
Atlantic Records is 19 tracks and is 46:52
Hopefully this clarifies things,

The uploading of a promo score for Steel gives me much hope for the TMNT promo seeing the light of day eventually.
I just finished editing an independent film my friends and I did, took me one year and I had become entrenched in the computer. So now thatI have no projects, I'm currently working on a complete score (via 5.1 DVD rip) of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. It WILL have SFX so it will be far from perfect. Might be of interest to some folk though.

Might be. I'm right in the middle doing something similar with Howard Shore's Panic Room. I did a 45 minute version years ago and I hope to get at least 5 more minutes of score. So I know myself you got a lot of work to do getting the best results as possible ;)

Did anyone get a hold of this one yet? Just saw it...not as impactful as the original, but it had some ideas. The theme is wondrous, though.

My apologies for not filling your requests promptly as I usually do. We have had a lot of severe thunderstorms in our area so that means no PC play or work. I run my own PC repair business and when we get a lot of storms it puts me behind. I will get the remaining requests up as soon as possible.

Hi Laei,
Yes I do listen to them, that is the ones that I burn to cd. The rest I archive on dvd's and I keep up with what I have by taking screenshots of the contents of the archived dvd's. That is how I lay my hands on the score or soundtrack someone requests. So how many archived dvd's do I have? 27...I am currently filling a folder for number 28. Every once and a while I will have a burn day when I burn a few cd's from some of my archived albums.

Hi Steve,
You could back up your music on another HD but I prefer to make dvd's intead to be on the safe side. There is always a chance of HD failure and having it happen before I just don't want to take the gamble.
Making an archival dvd is the same as making a cd-rom. I use Nero to make my backups. Just select the dvd tab and then select make data disc. Click the add button, select files and begin burning. You can get anywhere from 30 - 60 mp3 albums on one dvd depending on the compression of the files. (128 - 320)
Once the dvd is burned you can press screen print on your keyboard to make a screenshot of the files on your dvd. Most newer Windows OS's have the screenshot ability already incorporated but if not there are many pieces of freeware to do the job.
