so i just talked to the Publicity Information for Aleph Records, about the score and they said it was a MAYBE as they would love to release everything lalo has scored, but sometimes it is just a legal issue asto who owns the rights..the woman i talked to said that it has a possiblilty of being released, because amityville is one of the things hes known for best, and aleph has nothing on their slate right now and that i just have to wait and see.so this has about a 15 % chance of being released. YAY!!

All I can say is: WOW! I was not even expecting one reply, but I got TWO, and two totally different soundtracks at that! This one is definitely more complete as far as including the source music (and the cues are separated, thus 37 tracks as compared to 25) and it sounds like the quality is a little different in some respects (how exactly did you come by this?), too bad it's only in 128k! What I'm going to end up doing is mix-and-matching all three versions (parker1, yours, and the Varese 19-minute release) and creating the ULTIMATE Pee-wee's Big Adventure soundtrack, as far as sound quality is concerned (some tracks have split-second skips or abrupt ends). At least this is going to have to do until someone FINALLY re-releases this fine masterpiece in proper form, like it deserves.

I have now compiled an "ultimate" 40-track version of Pee-wee's Big Adventure, using all the best versions of each cue (where possible), while trying to retain the integrity of the original recordings. When all is said and done, I'm a little disappointed (it remains to be seen...er, heard), but I'm ripping it to a CD right now and I'm going to listen to how it comes out. I made a few edits in order to include all of the Varese Sarabande tracks, but in the end it comes out longer than either version.

God damn, wouldn't it just be easier to release the fucking complete score? I'm going to start a petition, too!

I have now compiled an "ultimate" 40-track version of Pee-wee's Big Adventure, using all the best versions of each cue (where possible), while trying to retain the integrity of the original recordings. When all is said and done, I'm a little disappointed (it remains to be seen...er, heard), but I'm ripping it to a CD right now and I'm going to listen to how it comes out. I made a few edits in order to include all of the Varese Sarabande tracks, but in the end it comes out longer than either version.

God damn, wouldn't it just be easier to release the fucking complete score? I'm going to start a petition, too!

Sorry if I'm cranky, but the thing that drives me absolutely blind with Klingon Blood-Rage about the internet is that written communication is all we have when using it, but somehow it's become socially acceptable to have all the written communication skills of a goldfish with a concussion.

I mean, I'm not going to start treating violations of basic rules of spelling, punctuation, and grammar as if they were Breaking Ape Law and subsequently hand out express tickets to My List of No Return like they were lollipops, and I recognize that we share this board with a lot of people for whom English is a second or even third language, but work with me, people. A list of titles, a row of question marks and a smiley (emoticons make the Baby Jesus cry) is needlessly vague. I literally feel stupider because my brain has been pulled into a shape that recognizes that as a request in the "txt-spk" you young whippersnappers think passes for common parlance these days.

Rant's over. I'm going to go sit on the porch, whittle, and tell people to get off my lawn, now.

My apologies for being off topic.
I've been trying to organize my files and am confounded by the problem of calculating album duration. While it is a simple matter to find the duration of any given file, it is proving much harder to find a simple and fast way to do so for an entire folder or album. (I've got a lot material to cover). Most of them involve compiling new playlists, or risk mixing the duration of music I listen to with music that has been archived.
Any advice would be appreciated...

My apologies for being off topic.
I've been trying to organize my files and am confounded by the problem of calculating album duration. While it is a simple matter to find the duration of any given file, it is proving much harder to find a simple and fast way to do so for an entire folder or album. (I've got a lot material to cover). Most of them involve compiling new playlists, or risk mixing the duration of music I listen to with music that has been archived.
Any advice would be appreciated...

With itunes, you can create and modify playlists by dragging albums and/or songs into the sidebar, it will give you the duration of the playlist and it's pretty easy to create, modify or delete them.
You can also add folders to playlists directly from the location of the file (ie no need to look for them in your itunes library but dragging them directly from your desktop or music folder)

I have to reiterate that composer is important to mention because as with Catch Me if you Can there are multiple versions and many of us (i know i do) organize our music by composer.
Also please anyone uploading include the name of composer so it is easier to find in a search later and some like to be able to decide if they want it based on composer.
