Thanks a second time for Christie's Poirot by Gunning :D
Could I please request also: flowers in the attick by Chris Young, house of frankenstein by Don Davis, lawnmower man 2 by robert folk, masters of horror (score selections) by VA, and robot carnival by Hisaishi.
I would also like to ask you if "Silent Hill by Akira Yamaoka" is music from the movie or the game?
Thanks heaps for your time and effort, you make a starving young lad very happy :D

no, zimmer isn't all bad....I quite like many of his scores, as well as Jablonsky, Badelt and Gregson-Williams....when they shine, they shine with uber-shinyness.....although I do tire of their action scores though.
and i just lost so many brownie points didn't i?
as for Elfman's score? i don't doubt that he suceeded, he did exactly what the film asked for.....but he too has had a bucket full or three of dull scores....

You're very welcome. I'm sorry about the small hiccup at the beginning of the last two tracks, but they were ripped from the DVD (which audio track is mixed real badly, the songs starts in one scene and continue in the other. As far as I know they were never fully released :()

It's almost perfect, can you modify the end... and put slight before the fade-out the last part of the original? Near the end of it (2:15), there are verses that are similar to this (I can't understand very well the lyrics, I apologize in adance):
Rock Until You Drop! (Yeah Baby!)
Dance Until Your heart stops! (Everybody Sing)
Rock Until You Drop! (Rock Until You Drop)
Dance Until your feet fall off (Woo-hoo!)
Rock Until You Drop (Rock Until You Drooop)
Dance Until Your heart stops! (Fightin' for your time)
Rock Until You Drop (guitar piece)
Dance Until your feet fall off (hmm yeah)

Thank you, and sorry for the trouble

Agreed. When he actually gets a melodic theme rolling, it's usually a cracking good one. Unfortunately, for every minute of that, there's usually ten minutes of him noodling around with a low, ominous chord or three without ever going anywhere, punctuated by the odd and seemingly random bit of echoing synthesized percussion that Hans must think is suspenseful. My brother and I have taken to calling such behavior "Zimmering" when other composers do it. Thankfully, I've found that Badelt, Gregson-Williams, Jablonsky, Powell, and any other of Hans's Padawans I've forgotten don't "Zimmer" nearly as much as their Master.

Yeah I agree, everyone has their scores that are in some way or another not as good as their other scores. Even Hitoshi Sakimoto, one of my favorite game composers, has a few scores that I don't really enjoy but that doesn't make me any less interested in their new stuff.
Also, I'll post the 2cd hook when I get home today if nobody else does.

I've got this that I found at World of Soundtrack before they closed their doors. Be advised of the following: I haven't actually listened to it yet, as it doesn't work in Windows Media Player. i found the same problem with several WOS downloads....i got Elfman's Proof Of Life off that site and it didn't work.
So I found 6 out of the 9 tracks from the album off of Limewire, with mixed sound quality in each track (and quite possibly virus aplenty).
So if anybody knows of a way to make the files work on WIndows that'd be great.........my savvy with the computer isn't so savvy.

I haven't had any problems with any WOS downloads and I think I listened to all of them. I will download the one madkalnod posted and see if it works fine for me. It could be that only windows media player is incapable of supporting it and you need to use a better software like foobar 2000.

Sorry but that doesnt sound like Elfman at all....Weird.
HOw can you lose respect for him just because he scores a "rap" movie - he scores all kinds of movies, man...Dead Presidents wasnt particularly rap, bu tit was generally the same kind of movie...so whats the big deal?
I guess it just has to do with how much I LOATHE rap, and its effect on the mainstream, and how it seems to have degraded everything else in its wake. Danny Elfman began with all sorts of weird, creative music in his Mystic Knights troupe, then evolved to new age/alternative rock with Oingo Boingo. Elfman has the distinction of remaining both my favorite film composer AND rock band leader. That, coupled with my hate for this rap trend, makes me lose respect for the guy. Sorry, but that's just my opinion of the thing. I'm not happy about it either.
I am aware of Dead Presidents (I have it on my Darkened Theatre Vol. 2 album), but the music actually wasn't BAD...

Hi, guys!
Fantastic thread, first off.
Today, I started looking through the forum a bit and I discovered the Ogniem i Mieczem soundtrack (from the Polish film; With Fire and Sword) which I think is absolutely fantastic. My question is whether or not anyone has it in a higher bitrate than was previously uploaded...128kb/s hardly does this music justice.
I'd really appreciate it if someone with the original CD could make a higher bitrate rip for me. Here are the details:
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
Title: Ogniem I Mieczem
Composer: Krzesimir Debski
Release: 1999 (Poland, USA)
Track List:
1. Prolog (01:56)
2. Piesn Jana (02:51)
3. Piesn Heleny (04:40)
4. Atak Kozakow (02:45)
5. Bezkresny Szeroki Stepie... (03:06)
6. Dumka Bohuna (00:49)
7. Gniew Bohuna (02:06)
8. Szarza Jazdy Polskiej (01:50)
9. Obrona Zbaraza (03:41)
10. Pan Longinus (03:18)
11. "Ruta Miata" (01:09)
12. Husaria Ginie (03:56)
13. Bitwa (04:04)
14. "Na Zielonej Ukrainie" (01:23)
15. Pan Onufry Zagloba (01:28)
16. "Dajcie Dziewke..." (02:57)
17. Rzedzian i Kozacy (01:53)
18. "Zegnaj Mila... Posel To Swieta Rzecz..." (02:38)
19. Rozpacz Jana (00:57)
20. Bunt ("Ty Bys We Krwi Utopil...") (01:54)
21. "A Kto Tu Jest Szczesliwy Na Tej Ukrainie" (04:25)
22. Jar Horpyny (02:11)
23. Helena w Kapieli (01:43)
24. Tatarzy (02:10)
25. Piesn Heleny (Wersja Instrumentalna) (04:39)
26. "Na Zielonej Ukrainie" (Final) (01:42)
27. Dumka Na Dwa Serca (04:16)
performed by Edyta Gorniak & Mietek Szczesniak
Apparently there's a 2-disc version of the soundtrack, but even just the first CD would be fantastic in a high-bitrate (320kb/s would be ideal) rip.
Here's the main theme just to give an idea of how pretty the score is:

I agree with you regarding rap to some degree. By some degree I mean, there's Busta Rhymes which his music from the mid 90's was weird and great..especially his videos...wild. And there's also The Roots. The Roots are still a great band. I like the fact that they use their own instruments to make their music sound authentic. With The Roots, it's not about bling bling and degrading women, but a more of a softer side like "You Got Me" on their album, "Things Fall Apart". Some rap I enjoy if it's the early days and not about pimping women and shutting cadillac doors.

I'll admit that some of the early rap from the late '80s/early '90s sounds laughably tame by standards today. I used to hate all of it, but now I can actually listen to some Fresh Prince and smile. Because it's just so CLEAN and un-rap-like. It rhymes and has a bit of a beat. But now everything is "pimp this," "pimp that," "bitches," "hoes," and to try and be as vulgar, disgusting, crass, and uncreative as humanly possible, and every rap "artist" tries to outdo the other as far as vulgarity, being disrespectful to women, and coveting material things versus the value of someone's life. I would possibly stick Notorious "Big" under that category, too. I just have so many bad things to say about [c]rap and its influence among the popular youth. What is our world coming to when being a "gangsta" and a pimp is respected and admired? Hell in a handbasket, baby.

Ok, thanks so much! I am looking forward to you posting it!
[Your Fade-Out here]
Thank you, and sorry for the trouble
Oh okay, I cut that part out the first time because of the dog barking. I put it back in, but since the song fades out at that part anyway I just replaced like the last 20 seconds of my edit with the last 20 seconds of the original (because I can try to make the original fade out..uh...unfade and be as loud as the rest but it doesn't usually come out very good). So how's this?

Also if you are ripping with windows media player (which I assume because of the WMA files of recent ups) you should be able to change the bitrate in the settings or change it to mp3 if you so desire.

I am aware of Dead Presidents (I have it on my Darkened Theatre Vol. 2 album), but the music actually wasn't BAD...
that being said, I find it hardly fair to judge a piece of music that doesnt even sound like its him to begin with, however judging from his latest forays into creativity during the latter part of this decade, I guess i can't disagree with you that some of his stuff can sound like utter shit, so good point.
Of course, my opinion has nothing to do with rap...because rap in and of itself is just a measure of expression, much like everything else out there..

Yeah, stupidly, two versions were released at the same time: the cut version and the "expanded" version. The expanded version contains all the songs in the film, plus comes with a 40-page booklet. The cut version contains all the songs in the expanded version, minus two. But both are just that; they contain the songs from the movie and not the score written specifically for the film (or adapted from instrumental versions of the songs). Can't find them anywhere...
Thanks for the input, anyhow.

Count me as stuck in the past, too. Other than Howard Shore's LOTR, I can't think of a score since the mid-90's that I would hand to somebody as The Example of what that composer could do. I think some of the problem is the lack of musical training the younger composers have. (I went to college in the early 90's at a school the did not require a music composition major to take a class in form or orchestration; those are two things a composer should know about, right?) Other contributing factors are the way that films are edited-- just look at what Lucas did with the prequels. It's kinda hard to spot a movie if the spots keeping movin'. I'd also put some of the blame on the studios and directors for not understanding how to use music. I remember sitting in the theater, watching The Peacemaker, and ten minutes into the movie I thought that there was nowhere for the music to go-- it had already climaxed and "shot its wad" (sorry for being crude). When the movie was over, I considered the Teaser too big and that the rest of the movie couldn't live up to it. There are plenty of other examples, but that one I was the first one where I remember thinking that while watching the movie for the first time. Treating far too many scenes as if they were The Most Exciting Scene Ever Filmed-- would that be the director or the composer's fault? Considering how many scores have been dumped in the last fifteen years, how many composers are going to try to give the director exactly what is asked for, no matter how much he (or, in the case of Rachel Portman, she) knows better? Gotta feed the family, right?

I guess it just bothers me that any talentless hack can call themselves a "hip-hop" "artist" and the public will unwillingly buy into that garbage. You have no idea how pissed off I was when that 3-6 Mafia trash won Best Song in the Oscars a couple of years ago. It just added "credibility" to that crap, while a much better song (the one by Bird York from Crash) was completely and utterly snubbed.
I'm sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now. I'll stop complaining about the way of the world today. Let's get back to pirating CDs from composers that we love and support! :P

Bruckhorn I get what you are saying but then also everyone has different tastes so while you aren't satisfied some others might be. I would argue that mongol by Tuomas Kantelinen is his defining score but then I haven't heard the majority of his work because it was never released in the US. Maybe I am too easily satisfied but I find that the majority of Kotaro Nakagawa and Yuki Kajiura's work is consistently fabulous.

I agree with all your points, although I know for a fact that Danny Elfman wasn't classically trained (he's self-taught), which I know a lot of critics have lambasted him for in the past. His decision to score a movie like "Notorious" might be one of variety (adding a rap movie to his resume), getting his name known among those who might not be familiar with his music (like anyone who watches Notorious), or just plain selling out. His best works have always been when he was allowed to let his creativity reign outside the box (like anything he's ever done for Tim Burton), or his own symphonic work, Serenada Schizophrena. For the most part, I blame movies for the current lack of originality in giving room for the composer to explore. The best works, I think, are the ones that allow the composer to take his or her time, premeditate on it, and given freedom to improvise. Sadly, nowadays, most composers are motivated by time constraints and money as music has taken a back seat to everything else and is usually an afterthought in post-production (except in rare cases, like the John Williams/Steven Spielberg partnership, Alan Silvestri/Robert Zemeckis, the aforementioned Danny Elfman/Tim Burton, etc. where the music is allowed to SHINE!).
Okay, okay. Now I'm done with the soapbox thing. Jeez.

Hello! I'm looking for Ip Man (2008; starring Donnie Yen) score. I don't know if the score is already exist yet, but the background musics in the movie are really good. :) Thank you in advance.

(I'm kidding. Not really.)
Well are you saying that all talentless hacks call themselves "hip hop" artists? If so, your ranting on a genre is no different then say...rock, country, or even orchestra won't change anything just like those that don't believe in God.

It's perfect! Thank you very much.

To the guy complaining about hip-hop (Rap). Not all rap is bad. I'm for one into the genre and am a hip-hop producer. Now I will agree withy ou that rap now of days, that you hear on the radio sucks badly.
But there is still alot of talent in hip-hop. unfortunately the masses will never hear it. That is due to the record executives who control the record label, budgets and what artists get their support (usually the untalented ones).
This statement goes to any form of music now of days. I could say the same about pop and rock (If i listened to it). But to each his own. Everything is about MONEY now of days. Integrity and creativity have been compromised for the most part.
Every once in awhile a great movie like (The Dark Knight, The Wrestler, Slumdog Millionaire) comes along and a good rap album like (The Roots Rising Down) and I think for some rock fans (Guns N Roses). So it's not all BAD just not as good as int he past.

1. rap or hip-hop is great music. Jurassic 5, Erik B & Rakim, Saul Williams, The Roots are perfectly good examples as to how good it can actually be.
and why the hell is the Dead Presidents score being compared to Notorious?
2. MadKalnod, thanks for the Buffy info but those aren't the the tracks I'm oot and aboot for. There were bonus tracks released with the 2008 release of Beck's score album on the Rhapsody, iTunes and Amazon.....I'm looking for specific tracks: "Willow & Oz", "Thanksgiving Brawl" & "Two Girls, 1 Van"
3. And "hater" the track from Buffy you're looking for is called "Faith's End"...it's on the Season 3 promo which MadKalnod just recently mentioned.

Elfman seems to have thinned down his orchestra since 2000, and he's been sounding rather boring...He's had a few highlights of creativity over the last 8 years, but not enough to keep things going for me in terms of following his career. His superhero scores always sound the same, ad i dont even bother with his drama scores, like Milk, for instance. Considering he made a song for that Wanted film suggests to me that he should be going back to his Boingo roots and use them for his films instead of doing it solo. If he's going to write a song, then at least involve Boingo. Maybe one day we'll see him go back to it...WHo knows?
Being stuck in the past with a person's music sucks, but I guess thats the way it is with everyone's art - after a while, they tend to get predictable...
Good talk folks...Thanks for reading.

The song "Oh Yeah" was performed by "The Yellows"... You can hear it in the scene of the Bedrooms... Also you can hear it at the end credits of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"... I actually found that song, but in a very low bitrate, if someone could provide it in a better quality

I'm still hoping Danny has something wild and whimsical up his sleeve for the upcoming years... Maybe a new Pee-wee movie would bring it out? :P
And YES, I would love it if he brought some "Boingo"-esque quality back. I know he still has it in him.

It would appear that RapidSpread is simply crazy-slow for me today, as I just checked Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo again. It says it exists now, but only two of the ten distributed links are ready, with the rest still uploading. I imagine that everything else I've posted today will arrive at least 6+ hours after the time I posted them. The server's giving me backsass again, so I'll wait until morning to post UFO by Barry Gray.

Budarc - Maybe the score for Seven? I don't know if he is scoring it but that could lend itself to a really awesome score.
Seven? Uh-oh, they're not remaking the David Fincher thriller, are they? :P
Seriously, I couldn't find any information on it. I tried looking up Danny's upcoming projects on IMDB, and the only really promising one is for Alice in Wonderland, which of course will be in conjunction with Tim Burton, so it will be good.

Dead Presidents is compared to Notorious simply because they are two musical distinctions of which Elfman never had any real sense of to begin with. if Im not mistaken Elfman missed the soul of the 60s and 70s and the funk because he was off wandering in Africa. Yet for whatever reason, he made a pretty damn good score, considering the soundtrack to Dead Presidents is mostly soul classics. Notorious is mostly rap, yet I know that since Elfman's forte isn't rap, I expect him to just about do the same kind of work as he did in Dead Presidents. Nevermind if the genre goes against his usual style...
Usually when I think of Elfman I think of his quirky Burton works or Superhero scores...When he does dramas or romance stories, etc I tend to not bother with it because Im too used to his work with Burton, etc...Consider that a bias if you want, but hey that's how he got into this business - scoring for Wacky Tim.

Nice collection Madkalnod.
I love the Avalon soundtrack by Kenji Kawaii and also the movie by Mamoru Oshii. The blu-ray for the movie is a b!tch to buy. I never understood why Ash's dog just vanished after she made that king's size meal for him. I have my own ideas regarding the dog gone AWOL. But he was in "class real" I believe in a car behind her. There were "missing dog" posters plastered on walls and polls but not where Ash was from. Still trying to figure that out.
Oh and I noticed you have Prey 2. The soundtrack for the game is already out?

Yeah, I tend to favor the wacky stuff more, too. Maybe that's doing an injustice to the man...I mean, why CAN'T he mature into more serious material like the other composers? But hey, as long as he throws a bone to us wacky fans every once in a while, I'm okay. ;)

I got a really awesome treat for you guys. Before you scoff at the name Hans Zimmer on here, this is an absolutely beautiful orchestral score to an animated childrens movie. It is heavy on the woodwinds and strings and includes a couple vocal songs as well. It has a wonderful relaxing theme that is repeated throughout and overall just gives me a warm, relaxing feel.
Composed by Hans Zimmer and Nick Glennie-Smith
Performed by The Deutsches Filmorchestrer Babelsberg
Orchestrations supervised by Bruce Fowler
Orchestrations by Walter Fowler‚ Suzette Moriarty‚ Elizabeth Finch‚ Rick Giovanasso

Hey, MalKalnod ol' buddy! I've got a problem. Could you reupload the following?:
Farscape Classics: Volume One
Farscape: Music from the Original Soundtrack
Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars (Original Soundtrack)
They accidentally got deleted off my hard drive, which really kinda sucks. I normally wouldn't have bothered you with this except that I checked your initial download links and they said "We're closed..." . Plus, tvsoundtracks.blogspot.com is closed for an undetermined amount of time, due to certain issues. Take your time reuploading them. I don't need 'em right away.

Hello people.
Thank you very much for all the great uploads you people are sharing!!
I cannot say how grateful I am.
I am looking for the following titles currently -- I am certain that these albums have been produced officially as CD format in the past:
Bruce Broughton - Hearts of Darkness (Game music)
Alexandre Desplat - Une chance sur deux ... aka Half a Chance
Trevor Jones - Cleopatra
Trevor Jones - Runaway Train
Jerry Goldsmith - Alien Nation (Varese Edition - not bootleg)
Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate the (living) links to these files.
I would very much appreciate if any of you could kindly help me out.
Regards,
Zuneo

Is anyone else still having problems with Teen Titans Tokyo? It says its still uploading for me.
Also, would anyone have a high quality (preferably at least 320) version of the score for "Ladyhawke" the one I have is really crappy quality. I watched it recently and had forgotten what a wonderful film it was and the score is very unique.

Madkalnod - The paycheck ost works fine for me so it must be a windows media player problem.
Also if you are ripping with windows media player (which I assume because of the WMA files of recent ups) you should be able to change the bitrate in the settings or change it to mp3 if you so desire.
Also to whoever requested hook 2cd I'll put it up soon, just got home.
The weird thing is, I do have it set to mp3 at 192 kbps (the highest my machine at the office will go) and it's still giving me .wma files.

Hi Madkalnod,
could you be so kind to upload all of your Joel McNeely scores?
and also Marco Beltrami's Resident Evil
Thanks so much
Now, when you say you want all scores by Joel McNeely, what exactly do you mean? Do you want scores just by McNeely, or do you want anything where he gets co-credit with another composer? Here's all I've got from him:
The Avengers – by Joel McNeely
Dark Angel – by Joel McNeely
I Know Who Killed Me – by Joel McNeely
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Volume 1: Contains suites from the episodes “Verdun 1916,” “Peking 1910,” “Paris 1916,” & “Barcelona 1917” – by Laurence Rosenthal and Joel McNeely
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Volume 2: Contains suites from the episodes “Vienna 1908,” “German East Africa 1916/The Congo 1917,” “London 1916,” & “British East Africa 1909” – by Laurence Rosenthal and Joel McNeely
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Volume 3 – by Laurence Rosenthal and Joel McNeely
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Volume 4 – by Laurence Rosenthal and Joel McNeely
Soldier – by Joel McNeely
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire – by Joel McNeely
Virus - by Joel McNeely
Now I'm pretty sure youve got to have some of that already, do you want me to still rip and post all of it? Also, be advised that as I'm currently forced to rip on my office computer, Young Indy 1 & 2, Soldier and Shadows of the Empire would be at 192 kbps wma files.
Let me know which ones you still want.

I believe he was requesting that and not offering it. People have a habbit of simply naming what they want without making it clear and wonder why their "requests" are not filled.
I browsed around and couldn't find anything, so I thought i'd go ahead and ask: is there a complete or expanded score to TERMINATOR 2? The regular soundtrack feels really incomplete to me. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I believe he was requesting that and not offering it. People have a habbit of simply naming what they want without making it clear and wonder why their "requests" are not filled.

Does anyone have the score/soundtrack to Hamlet 2? I feel like I've seen it posted somewhere, but of course now that I'm looking for it I can't seem to find it... Typical.

I browsed around and couldn't find anything, so I thought i'd go ahead and ask: is there a complete or expanded score to TERMINATOR 2? The regular soundtrack feels really incomplete to me. Any help would be great. Thanks!
Doesn't exist, yet.

Its a petition to get the expanded score released.
Please does anyone have the "He Sleeps (Love Theme)" for Pretty Women by James Newton Howard? Of course the whole score would be amazing, but if I could just find the love theme that would be enough.

Get it while it's hot:
The Incredible Hulk - Contains themes and suites from the episodes "Pilot," "Married," "Prometheus," "Ricky," "Stop Susan Williams," "Homecoming," and a bonus suite from the Cliffhangers episode "Secret Empire" - by Joe Harnell
Part 1 - [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Part 2 - [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Heads up, though: it looks as if the first two tracks have had their names switched.
Thx MadKalnod. Do you or anyone else have the other 2 hulk scores recently released by Harnell's website?

Sorry, if I had it I would have put it up. While I'm a superhero theme fan, the 70s Hulk wasn't really something I had been looking for. Like Gatchaman, Silent Hill, and many other kaiju/video game scores on my list, I only have it because one of my brothers wanted it. I haven't seen any sign of other Harnell Hulk scores, but with my recent internet difficulties I haven't really been anywhere that I would have seen them. Maybe one of the sites on the third link in my sig can help.
