Here is the complete ost for Ys 1 & 2 for Turbo Grafx CD. I included all the PSG tracks, & all the events, including when Goban tells you about Darm Tower. Enjoy! Oh, & I'm working on getting Ys 4 put together to upload as well:)

Wasn't this already on your list? What's the dif?

The one I already have on my list, is the PS2 version of Ys 1 & 2 Eternal. This is Ys Book 1 & 2 for Turbo CD. I'll also be uploading the PC version of Ys 1 & 2 Eternal, which is different from the PS2 version, since, on the PS2 version, the guys that ported it, used the PS2's soundchip, so all the music was recomposed. I may upload the NES versions of Ys 1-3 as well.
Oh, I should note, that this version, was composed by Ryo Yonemitsu. While Ys 1 & 2 Eternal for PS2 was composed I believe by Digi Cube's inhouse sound team, & the PC version was composed by JDK Band.

so, if talking about the quality of the songs, which one is better, the PS2 one, or the PC one.?? hhh sorry for asking silly question, bcuz i'm the type of gamers that really alert on my games' songs...

Actually, of the 3, the Turbo Grafx CD one is still the best. You can't go wrong with Ryo Yonemistu. Infact, there's even a patch you can download for the PC version, that will make it play the Turbo CD music instead of the PC music. But, between the PC & PS2, is a harder call, since, the PS2 version, although deffinitly different, you can still tell is modeled after the PC version. Hmm....I'm leaning towards the PC version being better I suppose, but it's a tough call. Though I haven't uploaded the PC version yet.
And if you're wondering why the Turbo cd version is still the best. It's mainly because Falcom didn't do the quality job on it, that they did with the newer Ys games, like Oath in Felghana, Origin, or Ark of Napishtim(of which, I'll be uploading Felghana & Napishtim soon). Ultimatly, probably the best Ys soundtracks ever, are for Oath in Felghana(which is a complete remake of Ys 3, came out a couple years ago) & Origin(which is a prequal to Ys 1, explaning everything that happened when Ys went up into the sky, Darm sought control of Ys, etc.).

oic,...thx for the comment and the sountrack...looking forward for your next Y's OST...actually, is there any english version of Y's for PS2 except for Ark of Nepishtim?? i cnt find it...

Unfortunatly, Ark of Napishtim(which is Ys 6) is the only game that has been released for PS2. Konami holds all rights in North America to release any Ys games right now. And, there's been no announcements of them doing Oath in Felghana or Origin unfortunatly:( If you ever decide to get the PC versions, there is a english patch for Oath in Felghana that's almost done, & they've started work on Origin. Although, frankly, I beat Felghana in japanese, & am about to beat Origin, so, knowing japanese isn't needed, but, still, it's nice to understand the story more, so I'll probably play thru those games again, once the patches are released.

First of all, you, sir, are a God. I have been searching forever for the actual redbook audio for these, considering it's always the TurboCD version that has the undying praise in its soundtrack.
Second of all, what versions are included on things like the YS II Perfect Collection?

Thank you, just doing my civil duty :) As for the Ys Perfect Collections(which I do have), they are just various versions of music from the respective games, like Ys 1 Perfect Collection, has all the music from the first game, in a couple of different styles. Ys 4 Perfect Collection, is the only one, that is more of an actual soundtrack, as it's pretty much all tracks from Ys 4 Dawn of Ys, but also includes music redone by Ryo Yonemitsu, which was originally just PSG tracks in Dawn of Ys.

This was one of the most groundbreaking game soundtracks of all-time. It was the first console game to truly take advantage of CD-rom sound capabilities and still holds up as an excellent score even now.
I have a question-
Is there a version of the opening introductory theme that does NOT have the voice-over?
I would really like to have that because it's one of the better tracks from the game.
One small complaint- Never use a semi-colon (;) in a file name. It's considered an "illegal character" by some file systems).
I also agree that this is still the absolute BEST version of these songs. The PS2 almost sounds like a cheap MIDI imitation of the originals.
Bonus praise for including the chiptunes also. Sometimes those get overlooked and they're good too.

I've never found a version of the opening without the narration, so, as far as I know, there isn't one. I don't remember putting a ; in any of songs names, infact, I think that's an illegal character on my file system as well.

The voice actors for this version of Ys 1 & 2? Here ya go [Only registered and activated users can see links] There's some great talent in this game, a few of them were in the G1 Transformers, & GI Joe cartoons. And even Sandman was Goban!

Question:
Could you give me all of the track names with their original track numbers in their respective games? I want to use this rip in conjunction with PC Engine Roms of Ys I and II that I downloaded; the data files I got were fine, but the audio files themselves were in a horrid 64 kbps quality rip. I'd like to substitute these instead.

Err...damn, too late.
Thanks anyway, but last night like four hours after posting that I found someone who had done just that--they had the CD's ripped in their respective track numbers, and it was a 320 kbps rip (don't get much better than that!).
Thanks anyway, though. I'll keep this one as a backup.
EDIT: 256 is pretty damn good, though. Perhaps I'll transfer the IDV3 tag information from these to the 320 so I can keep it as a music rip as well. Thanks again!

I think a re-up would be fantastic in honor of its release on the Virtual Console finally! woo!
