well

at least

I have said much to him how I see VGM piracy.

It's all up to him to continue bashing us with his normative point of view.

I'm outta here.

I wonder if you're all being satire.

You still need to convice me Kuja, for not posting sakimoto game music/rip outside SEMF. Your argument was too weak, I wouldnt keep your policy over me next time, sorry.

The whole point was to not post rips regarding the composers in general. I didn't say specifically that it should center on SEMO, but honestly, I know how you want to 'promote' composers, and promoting piracy by 'spreading the joy' isn't helping the long drawn out fight. Bottom line, you're not promoting a composer when you write a review and post where to download the soundtrack, or purposely spreading an entire game rip around, despite if it has a soundtrack release or not. You're welcome to share any other rip across the community, just not of those composers (unless you share to a known peer). That's a fair enough request.

Your retaliation argument wasn't even closely tied into the main topic. Talking about how less fortunate countries basically 'need' to pirate isn't winning over the discussion by any means. You out of all people should know that I'm aware of piracy in those countries, but it's just not a justifiable cause to 'steal' from someone to make living more pleasurable. If that's the logic that we go under, the world would have been plunged into anarchy long ago. It's against the law, even in a good portion of those small countries.

ha, I never good on debate. Honestly I avoid the debate with other people. Sorry Kuja, I'm criminal here. I would follow your rule in SQEMF since I have promised not to share any Sakimoto rip/music there. But not across other community.

Oh, someday you will know how world is divided into pay-pal and non-pay-pal-countries. You will understand someday how hard it is for people in developing countries looking way to buy imported original media from developed countries.

you're welcome to hate me for this.

lol typical. The files are in WMA format anyway.

And Eriol, I don't hate you, but I despise your lack of support towards VGM and its composers.

Well forgive me if you percept me that way. I do what I can do, the least I could is to popularize the VGM composers, expanding their market at least. And I'm sorry if I percept you as person who sees problem of legality and piracy as black and white.

I think Eriol you are trying to fight an already lost war. Everyone knows Trance Kuja is the master debater when it comes to composers rights ^^.

If you really want to popularize an composer

You can:
Write a big sign and chant "buy ~insert name~'s musik!!! its really good" at the city

or

Sky writing is good ^^

or if you really want to...

do a big publicity stunt, like something really dangerous and say you did it for the composer you're trying to make popular
Not only will you be on TV (the news) but people will know about the composer ^^.

Anyway, ever the since the internet became so popular and easy to access, piracy has gone outta hand. That is why we must try even harder to fight for our beloved composer's rights.

Yeah Alvinz. We're obviously criminals who trying to justify our deeds here. I'm just trying to convice Kuja though, some factors why this is occured, and I'm not entirely supporting piracy over VGM world. There are lot of reason piracy happens. It's matter of complexity which is beyond the problem of the obsecure market of VGM in the world.

And it's obvious I'm failed from the start, I guess. But it's ok, at least I have tried and I respect his good intention of law enforcement toward vgm composers' rights.

Alvinz is totally WRONG.

Trance Kuja is the whole reason why we no longer have stuff like Final Fantasy.

This is making me LOL, the Trance Kuja I knew was thankful for me letting him download a few VG MP3's from me in WinMX and now he's all "P1racy iz b4d!111ONE"

Lemme tell you something. If it weren't for piracy, I wouldn't even know who the hell Sakuraba is and thus would never have bought his Valkyrie Profile and Tales of Destiny 2 OST. Your entire argument against distribution of MP3's is based on the assumption that nobody would buy the CDs given the choice, which isn't true at all. Heck, I've looked everywhere in HK and can hardly find a single sign of VGMusic tracks, so I don't have any other choice, do I?

How ironic is that, I remembered you saying the same thing to anti-piracy crooks before.

Umm, I don't even use WinMX. Must have been a different Trance Kuja (I believe this is the only forum I use this name on).

It's true that piracy can raise awareness, however I have never insisted that it didn't on any particular level. My argument is based on that piracy has never proved on particular chart releases to gain sales or improve sales conditions for the artists involved. In other words, piracy has proven to have done more harm than good.

About your searching in Hong Kong for VGM, you live next to Japan. Shipping at the most expensive rate would be only about $10. That's, what, about $10 extra that you would pay?

Would you steal money from a bank?
Would you steal a handbag off a lady?

No?

So why the fuck do you want to steal pirated music?

First off, what's your AIM sn?

Secondly, piracy has never proved to hurt sales as well, so the argument is amibgous.

Finally, I would import from Japan if I have means available to me, and nope, online ordering is not a valid avenue for me.

a., Why the fuck are you still here then? b., Internet transfers and real life transfers are two completely different things, music transferred over the internet isn't "stolen" per se, rather, it's copied over to the next computer requesting the file, and the original file still retains existence.

There has been more evidence to support and suggest a decreased sales percentage over the past 10 years. Quite easy to find; search Google for reliable pages.

Umm, Ok. Here are just a few pages:

I refuse to associate the RIAA with credibility. Almost all the money we spent on buying those albums goes towards fattening their yuppie ass wallets. It's their own damn fault that piracy is flourishing on the internet. Here's how it works:

- Piracy was an underground thing, but it bugs the crap out of some rich bastard because you know...they happen to be $3 short from paying off his new Limo and he blames it on those damn pirates.
- The RIAA steps in and promises to put an end to piracy, they demand revenue, thus record labels inflate the prices of their albums to ridiculous prices.
- Less people could afford albums off the bat, and some are indignant that some company hell-bent on protecting against piracy is inflating the hell out of CD prices. Also, major record labels under the RIAA get all the spotlight, while the less known record companies get squashed out of music stores. They turn to piracy as a means to avoid spending a lot of money on an album, as a last resort because nobody could find the albums they want or out of sheer spite because they hat to see a single cent end up in the RIAA's grubby hands.
- The RIAA tracks them down, and rapes them raw of every penny they had.
- The people are now homeless and ruined, thanks to the RIAA going after their "piracy" when the RIAA had driven them into it in the first place. All their assets go towards installing new fanny-jets on the toilet seats of the RIAA building.

So fuck the RIAA, I hope they die a horrible, slow and painful death, every single last one of them greedy, penny-pinching bastards, preferably through a monster enema which consists of shards of broken AOL CDs, salt and viper venom.
