I just did that. I finally payed attention to the lyrics after hearing this song dozens and dozens of times over a period of years:

Sow - The World is My Oyster

Playing with Polly
The plastic dolly
Sunday
A walk in the park
Tea will Polly under a tree
Getting sticky with Polly and cream buns
Telling Polly about the nice man
We're going back to his house to watch Tom and Jerry
On the telly
He's no stranger
He's my long lost uncle from America
He told me so
Mummy won't mind
He'll drive us home
She'll be so happy to see her brother again
She'll hug and kiss him
And maybe she'll ask him to stay for dinner
Used a winch to lift her out
Boredom
Chatter
Haven't seen you for years
Weather's bad.
Shame about your dog
Short show
Long finale
Bloated greyish blob of flesh-like blubber slumped on a stretcher dripping
No-one touches it
It won't move
She'd been playing with Polly
He'd been playing with her
Now she looked just like Polly only she was full of water
Not air
And yeah
Half her cunt was missing
She was only four

That song is very auto-biographical for you, isn't it Sarah?

That song is scarring.

Also, two words: subconscious programming.

Whoo!

Yeah, there's tons of songs that I've listened to that I don't know the lyrics to. As an advocate of lyrics that are actually well written and meaningful, I'm probably better off that way anyway, especially considering some of the nutty, chaotic bullshit I listen to sometimes.

Ive had Seven Years from Saosin for about a year now and only jus t found the lyrics!!!

'Taking on seven years the holy ghost had left alone
Test my arms, kick like crazy
And Ive been trying way to long
only if he could push his way off to fight you
im sorry, im sorry, im not sure
Getting off my chest
the story ends
I would find a way without you
(tell him his eyes see too clear)
That mistake was gold
I know that without you
its something that I could never do
that was why staple the eyes and
seven dates for me to sell machines
and tear on
seven years you assured me
that Id be fine if I complied
only push the way off to fight you
Im sorry Im sorry im not sure
getting my chest the story now ends
I would find a way without you
(tell him his eyes see too clear)

Dont treat me Im to blame
Dont treat me like I ever accused you...'
