WHAT IS THIS?

Timothy John Follin is a British musician that is considered a legend of the 80s computer music scene, composing many notable pieces for a variety of Commodore 64 games among other 8-bit computers. But somewhat lesser known are his music for console games, and this particular collection focuses on some of his works for two consoles.

Included in this collection are three NES games and a Sega Genesis / Mega Drive game. All of them are chock full of vibrant melodies, the occasional unpredictable time signature (let's be honest: Solstice title theme is legendary). Time Trax puportedly employs an "advanced sound driver" developed for Tim by Dean Belfield (according to Sega Retro), and its full, spacey melodic sound shows this off capably. If these NES games also use any advanced hardware or trickery to produce the sounds that they do it wouldn't be surprising, but one thing is for sure: Tim's raw talent in composition and programming shines through in every single piece of music from these games. They're all essential for chip tune fans.

My goal is to present to the community well-mastered Original Sound Version / OST music of the greatest soundtracks video gaming has to offer, with an emphasis on early/mid-90s obscurities and classics. This is the first time I've remastered NES/Famicom music and it has fared tremendously well.

Enjoy!
